Convergence issues Hi! I've noticed you've posted several solutions to convergence issues. Lets see if you can help us. We do the convergence and it seems fine. Once you put the TV on a channel you see a green/red image and it looks like the convergence is off again. Any ideas?

Is the symptom the same on ac format? If so you may have to do an alignment. Also when the convergnce seems off if you go back to the convergence adjustmen is it off there aswell? If so you may just need to reflow thesolder on the convergence Ics.

Convergence PROBLEM pHILLIPS mAGNAVOX 60" rEAR pROJECTION

Hi,

All i can say is that this is very common.May be it is not the convergence circuit in this case. it is the power supply not giving the convergence circuit the power it needs to run. there are several parts that need to be repalced here.

Or may be the convergence amplifiers need to be replaced. They're on the Small Signal Board (the one with the tuner[s] on it) and the part on the amp's (there are two on them, replace both) start with STK and will be followed by some numbers and pssosibly letters, such as STK392-110.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

The convergence red and green colors are bleeding into the picture. On the bottom of the screen and on the left side of the screen. I tried to readjust the convergence factory settings and the problem...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa.This is often caused by failed convergence ICs. I don’t think the issue is with the power supply of the unit as the sound is coming fine from the unit. It’s not a difficult job if you want to do this yourself, you should require some basic knowledge about soldering-resoldering components. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then replace the ICs (STK ICs) which are located behind the black heat sink and also check the resistors as if they are short the ICs might blow again after sometime. There are
repair kitsavailable which includes repair instructions with the parts, if you want to do it yourself, you can buy and repair it yourself. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Your set has a convergence problem which is a common issue.

Take a look at this solution posted earlier on Fixya. It worked for me.

Convergence with green color.

Your symptoms sound like an intermittent connection on the convergence IC’s.

There are two and sometimes three very large IC’s that control the convergence in a big screen set. They are secured to a very large aluminum heat sink.

There are two ways to repair intermittent connections on the convergence IC’s. I usually remove the board with the convergence IC’s on them and then and solder the connections. The other method is to tilt the circuit board and solder them while still installed in the chassis.

If you remove the board and repair the connections, be careful to remember which connections need to be made when you replace the board. Mitsubishi uses a lettering system, so it should be easy.

If the problem remains after you have made the repair, it is possible that the pins on the IC’s have become loose. In this case the IC’s need to be replaced. I have seen this on several occasions.

If you choose to repair the set yourself, be very careful of the high voltage that can be stored in the capacitors, and CRT’s. This voltage can be as high as 30,000 volts.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest FixYa rating. (Two Thumbs Up) If you cant rate this post with the highest rating, then please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

Need to know what convergence chips are in Panasonic PT51HX41E

your model has two STK392-110 CONvergence Cs, you will also most likely need at least a few of the 2.2 ohm 2watt convergence resistors. I am posting a link to the actualrepair kit for your model which contains both Convergence ICs and all 6 of the convergence resistors and they send instructions with pictures that show how to do the repair.

Green Wavy Lines, and lower Convergence Issue

Before you call for help is a good idea if you check the solder conections to the convergence Ic's and resoldered them and while you are there check and resoldered any overheated areas. If the soldereing corrects the problem you will not have to worry about convergence adjustments,as long as the set is unplug you can carefully work in the chassis without having to touch the anodes of the picture tubes, stay away from them.Lets us know how it goes.
