I am able to download my videos to my computer from my Everio camera with no problems but when I am ready to burn and click "burn", my computer states "insert a blank writable disk"- in which there is already a blank Video DVD-R in the drive..... I know my Dvd/CD burner is working correctly because I just burned pictures on a CD. I have also tried 2 different brands for Video/DVD Maxell and Memorex. What do I need to burn my videos to the disk???

How can I transfer from tape in camera onto dvd

The best way to do this is to download the video onto a computer. Using video software (there is a lot available on the internet), edit your video and then send it to the DVD burner.

Transfer my minidv camcorder film onto DVD

You need to download the movie to a computer and store it in a video file. Then you should be able to use a software program to burn it to a DVD. I use a TIVO for watching and burning my videos. You don't need a computer. You save the video by recording it to the TIVO's hard drive then after it is on the drive you DUB it to an empty DVD-R disc.

Sony DCR-TRV38 - cannot burn movie to DVD

I found the best way of editing the footage from these cameras is to put the DVD disc into your computer and copy the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder onto another folder on your hard drive. The uses a video editing application which is specifically designed for the MPEG format. I would highly recommend the low cost "Womble MPEG Video Wizard" which is available for a 30 day trial at www.womble.com.
