Jenn Air dual-fuel downdraft range

I have a model 9860BDS, slide in electric/gas range. It has a preheat button, and it will start to preheat a selected degree, but in a second shuts down, and returns to clock display.--is not preheating.
I also have a problem with the downdraft vent. When I press to button for high-low vent, it asks me for a hi-lo temperature for a "warming tray" which I don't have, and have never seen this option before.
Any insight is helpful. This is only 2.5 years old.

I eventually replaced the oven ignitor. That has solved the problem.

SOURCE: Oven takes a long time to preheat

You don't list a full model number or how old this range is, or how long / how often you have this problem, but generally it sounds like the oven ignitor is not quite drawing enough amps to allow the gas valve to open regularly. It could be a low voltage related issue, but most likely is a failing oven ignitor. ( WB2X9154)

SOURCE: my Delonghi gas oven takes nearly 45 minutes to preheat!

I would be suspicious of the thermostat. It or the sensing element may have failed.

Unless they start working again after it has a chance to dry out the touch panel will have to be replaced. This happens when excess moisture gets between the very thin layers of the membrane.

Oven doesn't heat up all the way on our Jenn-Air duel-fuel range

all repairs should be performed by an authorized service person. if your breakers were tripped there is a high voltage short or weak home breakers. when resetting the breakers make sure the dual breaker switches are in the on position. if the is ok check for the proper voltage is at the power outlet is correct.if it is ok unplug the range. be sure not to break the gas line. remove the rear panel check to see if the power cord power cord is secured to the power cord terminal.if the terminal is damaged do to the shortage at the terminal replace the terminal and power cord. when replacing the power cord and install the power cord restrain that usually comes with the.power cord.

Bake and Convection preheat abort after a few minutes

Hey Jeff Bassler,

How about... Instead of such an expensive experiment
You have a look at some related scenarios cited on
applaincepartspros... My concern is not getting fault codes.

Sorry:
I would need to know your service HISTORY...
SPECIFICALLY: Did this unit ever work?
(to disregard the notion of a FACTORY wiring error)
((proper trouble shooting = ASSUME NOTHING)).

Jenn Air

The retailer where you are getting the range should be able to tell you what parts you need. Some of the ovens are vented through the floor and require a bottom exhaust kit. Talk with your salesperson he should be able to help.
