Can the Zenith XBV443 record a VHS Tape to DVD?

No, the Zenith XBV443 can not record a VHS tape to DVD. This unit is a DVD Player/VCR recorder. It doesn't have the ability to burn data/files to disc. The manual is available at ManualsLib: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/267291/Zenith-Xbv-443.html . The DVDs that it can play are limited: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/267291/Zenith-Xbv-443.html?page=5#manual .

I wish that I had better news for you.

Hi Henrybf.
If you have an owners manual try looking in there to help you with the problem that you are having. If you don't have an owners manual you can download one from the Zenith website in PDF/Adobe reader form. You may even be able to purchase replacement parts from them. Hope this helps.

Zenith XBR716 every time i tried to record a dvd in the unit saids copy right protected

Hey! Usually, DVD-Video has protections such as Content Scrambling System (CSS) and region codes. These protections are designed to prevent the DVD user making backup DVDs. If you want to copy DVDs, you need to remove DVD protections first. Usually, DVD Copy Software can be of help which can backup dvds by removing DVD protection. I recommend you use this DVD Copy software. Hope that helps.

Recorded dvd's won't play in another dvr

The problem is not the dvds themselfs it is the other play that you are trying to play them in (some players do not play DVD- and DVD+ or any other of self recorded disks) Look on the players box to see all what types of disks it can play!

Zenith XBR411 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo Problem

I have the XBR616 zenith combo.
If your dead set on initializing your dvds, I can try to
do one in my dvd player to see if it works, then send it back to you. I can't guarantee anything, my player is a bit fussy, but I don't mind helping you.

If so, let me know

Dvd player not working

This unit has separate optics to read audio and dvd's and unfortunately you are describing a defective pick up assy (lazer). This unit is not servicable and you cannot get parts for it because LG/Zenith has made these units exchange only. Your owners manual will give the # to call to get quotes and instructions for arranging exchange. I have found this is pretty reasonble for this service.
