Hi, most protons have power supply problems, the power supply is no longer available, but it can either be mailed in to a company called PTS to be rebuilt or you can attempt a component level repair yourself.
Most non technical people can not disassemble and solder there TV.
If you are comfortable soldering, you can open the TV and view the power supply (upper center section) look for any bulging capacitors (cylinder looking small components) sometimes replacing the swollen caps will fix your Proton, If any parts look burnt you will need to send the board to PTS to get it rebuilt , should cost around $100.

SOURCE: No power to my Protron PLTV 3250. What can I do
My Protron PLTV - 3250 just went out yesterday. By this I mean it turned on and went out in a few minutes. I left it off and today it completely died. I opened it up because I always think I can repair things. So what I found is a burn mark on the curcuit board of the power supply which is located inside the tv. On the other side of the burn mark is a (zener diode), this diode is burned out and therefore the power supply is not working. I am going to Radio Shack tomorrow Monday Aug. 31, 2009. The diode is very tiny but should be easy to replace with a sauder gun because this diode has place holders to hold the tiny diode in. If this does not work at the top of this page is a link that says power supplies for your tv for sale. I am going to check it out. Anyway just so you all who know about computers= the tv power supply is similar to the power supply on a computer. Just like a computer power supply comes in a case that you install into your computer and then you just connect the connectors to your motherboard and drives. Well in the tv the power supply is stand alone also, you can disconnect the wire connections in the tv and replace the power supply. If you notice the power cable to your tv is the same as a computer power cable, so the power supply in the tv is much the same as a computer power supply. I hope this helps you.

This TV uses AC ADAPETR dual outputs (12vdc and 24vdc), verify that the 24vdc is working, the 12vdc is working because the red indicator light is on, check that the power supply output first.

I also bought a bluray but cannot find where to connect the hdmi.....love the tv but want to use bluray too.....anybody have any suggestions?
why won't it support it? i have a protron pltv 3250 and it does have an hdmi port but when i connect anything to it nothing comes up on the hdmi source....
