We've converted our Epson CX5500 to CISS. This worked well until recently when the two red lights started blinking. Our ink supplier sent us resetting program which we tried. The server we were using could not detect the printer. When we connected it to another pc we were able to complete the resetting procedure. The technician also attached a waste ink tank. The printer worked for a day or two and now it's not working again. Is it possible that there's a problem with the hardware itself? where can i download a resetter software for my printer cx5500 w/c i used a ciss ink supply.

The problem here is that Epson actually programs the hardware to recognise if you are not using genuine ink cartridges and the malfunctions you are experiencing are programmed malfunctions, they are not random faults. The .PIF file on the install disk is indeed infected with spector keylogger although after being contacted, epson denies this is true. Spector is very hard to find and was designed to remain hidden at all cost and is the height of keylogger technology even to this day.
Sadly, several versions of epsons' printer/scanners are infected and it appears to be everything made after 2005.
The net is rife with the known problems of epson ink whick appears to be the cheapest on the market but the usuage percentage is in reality much higher than other printers.
My advice is not to buy Epson products, they are unreliable and unsafe.
