SOURCE: whirlpool dryer not blowing hot air

The element is at the bottom of the unit. Usually they are located on the right bottom but when you take the housing off, you will be able to see it.

SOURCE: Heat will not stay on

Hi, very common problem.

The problem is with the gas coils.
When they get weak, they only come on for about 10 minutes and then the machine will blow cold air. There are 2 of them with one being the booster coil. They come in a pair and run less than $20.

Best of luck. Please e-mail me if you have any other questions.

Whirlpool AWZ 410 washer dryer is not generating any hot air when drying. The dryer drum is tumbling but with cool air only.

Unplug the unit and take the top with the screws holding the lid on. Take a look at all of the wires on the top of the machine. You might notice broken/burnt wires on the safeties that are close to or that directly activate the heating element located in the blower housing located at the top of this washer/dryer condensing unit.

You say it heats a little. From experience that tells me these coils are getting hot and failing. Touch em after they work then quit. More here

My gas whirlpool dryer won't heat. Cool air does

Hi

Things that could stop a gas dryer from heating:
- glow bar igniter, thermal fuse ( not all models ), coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

The dryer is not staying hot to dry the clothes.

Sounds like the overheat is tripping, usually due to lint clogging the exit inside the dryer and inside the pipe.

Whirlpool mod # WGD5300SQ0 gas dryer gets hot but does not stay hot Is it a thermostat or radiant sensor or something else

by all means when dealing with natural gas consult only trained professionals....as natural gas does not have an odor..the odor that you smell is an actually additive that has been place for just this reason.
