Installing a screen

It's very common when installing Windows 7 for you to get to the Windows logo or blue windows screen and it be blank and you sometimes have to wait for anything up to 15-20mins before the installation options appear, unsure why this is but make sure you allow 30mins on that blank screen before righting it off... You also need to decide if your setting up a dual boot system if you already have XP on their, if you want to keep both then select dual boot when installing. Sorry it's not an answer but waiting 15-mins or so may give u the answer, had that happen lots of times with win7

check the cable connected to the monitor
run another monitor on your pc and if it does the same , try installing a serarate graphics board and if you are already doing that, replace that graphic board

It must be for the same model.

Hi there, I am also facing same problem with my Dell Inspiron mini 1012, when i turn on my laptop it makes a beeping noise for about 15 seconds.the screen also goes black after this for about the same time.then the laptop works fine just wondering what may be the cause of this. S Bhat, India

hello, to start of, NO, not all 15.6 inch LCDs are same. They all vary from different brands and models of the laptops.
Here is what i would recommend, go to ebay.com and look for a used or new screen, if you are not comfortable installing it your self ask a repair shop for installation price.
just cor comaprision you can ask for manufaturer's price to replace it but I am positive if you didn't purchase extra "Screen protection" it will probably be not worth price you will get from "eMachine".

Please reinstall your display driver. Windows is unable to correctly identify your display dimensions. Once you install your display driver, you screen should be normal.
