My Compaq CQ5210F Optical Drive Super Multi DVD+R/RW keeps stalling and when burning disks actually puts skips and stalls to the DVD burned

It may be a hardware problem. If it starts ejecting as soon as you switch on the system i.e. before booting into the operating system then it is definitely a hardware problem. Take the drive to the service centre and get it fixed. Or if it happens when you are using windows then it might be a prank program or a virus. Check your running processes and make sure all are right. (You can google the process name and check the results)

It sounds like the drive has failed but before you rip it out and trash it you should check that it is listed in your hardware via control panel , system. If it shows up as fine then try burn somthin simple like a regular CD not dvd. if that works the problem may be with your burning software.

if its not listed in hardware or has an exclamation mark by it the its time to open the computer case and check the connections to the drive. remove each connection one at a time and re-connect before moving onto the next one. switch the computer back on and see if it finds new hardware or shows up fine in your hardware list. If not then it is probably pooched.

Try to download Alcohol 120% and that program will burn the image for you on blank DVD ;)
you need to get the image first before you burn the file.
