Samsung model:ht-tz122,error message: "prot" - Audio Players & Recorders

Protection mode. look for shorted speaker output, or too muchoutput load (low Ohms, below 3-4)

We have no way to look this type of info up at this website.

It works for me and my Samsung HT-TZ122
Follow the steps below:

1. turn on and wait for the "NO DISC" message
2. press <stop> button for 5 secs
3. blink light noted
4. press "<enter>", "<8><4><2><6><9>" then "<enter>"
5. shut down unit and restart

1: Turn DVD player on, with NO DVD in the tray.

2: Press Repeat on remote control (bottom right key)

3: Enter 76884

4: Press 9

5: Open tray, close tray

6: Turn off DVD player, turn it back on.

Hi,

This error means that you are trying to play a region-protected disc that is not in the same region as your player.

It is possible to "hack" the region on your DVD player by following these instructions:

PROT means that the AMP is protecting itself from damage due to bad or incorrect wiring or damaged and or incorrect speakers. Check your wiring and speakers.
If you find no problem then, DISCONNECT YOUR SYSTEM FROM THE POWER, disconnect your speaker wires...all of them, then reconnect the power ONLY, turn on the system and see if it still says PROT. If it does then your amp is damaged.

hello, prot mean protect the output transistor may have blown or a capacitor has poped or swelled up or the just could be a case of a dry joint

when i turn on my Samsung HT-C550 IT showing PROT and DVD turn off. What this is mean PROT?

the player's amplifier is blown and needs to be repaired or replaced.

i had the same problem a prot display then it would shut down. turns out i had the sub disconnected(noise complaint from the shaking at my apartment complex) but the speaker wires for the sub connected to the amp or central unit. when i disconnected the sub i left the wires on the floor behind the sub separating the pos. and neg. somehow the wires got moved around and the pos was touching the neg. as soon as i noticed and fixed this problem the system was working fine. my samsung hometheater model is HT-BD1250
