Suddenly all detailed maps are locked, I can't unlock them

try to do an update to your gps and it will work

This happened to me. What worked was turning off the ipod (not stand by mode). Turn it back on and plug it in, it should work.

Its a lil Play button at da bottom of screen wen on tuner! tap it until it say p1 p2 p3 etc, turn to wat station you want and hold either p1 p2 p3 etc!

This question is the proverbial How long is a piece of string!

For a start the "other functions" you speak of are burned into the ROM
The maps are loaded into memory from a CD. I would assume that your maps have become disconnected and therefore either fail to load or are not setting the display
I recently experienced this on a 5120

You will need a pc with a dvd/cd writer. Go towww.garmin.com/kenwwood, and download to new firmware/software. Justfollow the instructions and upgrade your 5120's software to version2.60.
All you have to do is unzip the file on your pc, copy it to yourcd using your burner software, then load it into your kenwood's dvd/cddrive. Your maps should come back.

If they don't it will be a send to Garmin/Kenwood

If this is still happening then go to Kenwood direct, they supplied the unit with the pre loaded software and therefore they should deal with the problem as they are not supposed to lock the software. Kenwood if need be will contact Garmin for you. You may find that they have experienced this problem with other users too.

Open the cd/dvd tray and close it again. it should be a disc-read fault. That can be, the disc is dirty or damaged. Hope it's only dirty.
