Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, it would be to your advantage to reference the service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram. To correctly diagnose your current problem, voltage checks at key testpoints must be performed.

Alternately, you can re-check the repair factoring the following:

  • capacitors have polarities. A reversal would cause them to fail as well as spillover the fault to other components;
  • plug-in boards can and may no seat correctly;
  • in most instances, diagnosis/voltage checks should start from the power supply's different output voltages;
  • in most Mitsubishi units, in their power supply section, there are fuses on the various secondary output before the diode.
Pls post back the chassis number as well as a detailed description of the current fault.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: CAPACITOR 1000 UFD 16V 105C FOR MITSUBISHI WD-52525 52 IN. TV

no you cannot substitute a 680uf 16v 105c in place of a 1000uf
if you want to put a better capacitor in place of the old 1000uf 16v 105c , then use a 1000uf 25v or 35v 105c
the voltage rating will allow the cap to better handle the circuit

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-62525 bglod fixed, but inputs are broken

look for dried out thermal paste on the transistors / i.c.'s especially on the power supply board.
test while the set is on, carefully! using coolant spray (freon) and, a hairdryer to find heat related faults keep turning the set on and, off to replicate the problem as you heat and cool components until you find the offending component. the coolant is non-conductive and, will not harm anything it touches except you. wear safety glasses and, keep your hands out of the way of the spray nozzle.
remove old non-conducting paste if a component gets too hot and, re-apply the paste.
radio shack sells the coolant spray (component cooler) and, the paste.

Usually overheating or cheap bulbs made in China. $200 bulbs are better than $84 bulbs. Very old technology, time for an upgrade!
