SOURCE: Printer keeps saying insert memory card

The message is not an error message and does not indicate an issue with the product. The message is designed to be an invitation to print photos from a memory card. Follow these steps to insert a memory card into the product. SOURCE: i have a hp psc 2355 printer everytime i insert

I had the same problem with my HP L7590 All In One. After trying a number of things to reset nothing worked. Then I tried this just as a last resort and it worked.
Insert the/a memory card( it will tell you that you can only use one card at a time).
With the card still in turn off the printer using the power button.
Wait for 30 seconds then turn power on again.
The screen should say reading card. So wait for it to finish reading and all should be fixed.
If this does not work, try again using a different card.
good luck
****
Send me Kudos if it works.

Pictures show up on memory card in camera, but computer won't recognize the card - either inserted directly or by USB

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

How to connect a printer to a digital camera?

If the photos are stored on the memory card (SD) in the camera, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the memory slot in the HP printer. You can then print the photos that are stored on the memory card.

Memory error

What is the exact memory error you're getting? It could be referring to your computer's memory -- the 6310 requires at least 128 MB to function correctly.
It could also be referring to the memory card you are using -- SDHC cards won't work with the 6310, and all memory cards should be 1 GB or less to work right.

Hp Photosmart 8150 can't read sdhc memory card

Unless the SD slot is specifically designated that it can read the new SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory card it will not read even though it plugs intop the standard SD slot.. I checked and this printer can't read the SDHC card only the standard SD card. You can buy a SDHC USB reader on ebay for a few dollars.

I have a HP PSC 1610 All in one printer and I tried putting my media card in the SD slot and it tries to read the card but the red light flashes and says memory card error. HELP Please!

If using the Card Reader -

The HP all-in-one has detected an error with the memory card.

1. More than one memory card is inserted in the HP all-in-one.

2. An incompatible camera is connected through the camera port.

3. A memory card is inserted and a digital camera is connected at the same time.

Solution:

Remove and reinsert the memory card. It may be inserted incorrectly. If the problem continues, the memory card may be defective.

Remove one of the memory cards. Only one memory card can be used at a time.

Check the user guide that came with the camera to see if it supports PictBridge. If it does not, try using the cable that came with the camera to connect the camera to the USB port on the back of the HP all-in-one instead of to the HP all-in-one camera port. If the camera does support PictBridge, make sure the camera is set to PictBridge mode. See the user guide that came with the camera for instructions on how to do this.
Remove the memory card or disconnect the camera. Only one can be used at a time.

You might try the following - Reformat the memory card in the camera or format the memory card in a Windows XP computer by selecting the FAT format.
Hope this helps!

HP C5180 All-in-one : Memory Card Error, No memory card in it

  1. Remove the memory card from the camera.
  2. Locate the memory card slot on the product that is compatible with your memory card. Figure 1: Memory card slot locations c01331721.jpg 1 - CompactFlash (I, II) 2 - Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard (MMC), Secure MultiMedia Card 3 - xD-Picture Card 4 - Memory Stick, Magic Gate Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo (with user-supplied adapter), Memory Stick Pro 5 - Front universal serial bus (USB) port (PictBridge-enabled)
NOTE: Some portable USB flash drives with a read-only partition, such as U3 smart drives, might be incompatible with the front mass storage port on your product. These partitions are added by the manufacturer and may include utilities and other software. Refer to the manufacturer for additional details about your drive.
  3. If it is not already on, turn the product on by pressing the power button (c01324469.gif ).
  4. Turn the memory card so that the label faces inward and the contacts face the product. Figure 2: Inserting the memory card c01335108.gif CAUTION: Inserting the memory card in any other way might damage the card and the product.
  5. Gently push the memory card into the memory card slot until it stops. The memory card does not insert all the way into the product; do not try to force it.
  6. When the memory card is inserted correctly, the status light next to the memory card slots flashes and then remains solid green. CAUTION: Never attempt to remove a memory card while it is being accessed. Doing so can damage files on the card. You can safely remove a card only when the status light next to the memory card slots is not blinking. Do not pull out a memory card while the light is flashing green.
Step two: Print the photo
  1. Press Photo Menu . A message displays on the control panel with the number of files found on the memory card.
  2. Press the right (c01185072.jpg ) and left (c01185108.jpg ) arrow buttons to browse through the photos on the memory card.
  3. When the photo number you want to print appears, press OK .
  4. After selecting the photos, press Photo Menu again.
  5. Press the right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Number of Copies , and then press OK .
  6. Press the right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Layout , and then press OK .
  7. Press the right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Paper Size , and then press OK .
  8. Press the right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Paper Type , and then press OK .
  9. Make any other appropriate changes to the settings, and then press Print Photos .
