Thermostat wont shut off unit

My cooler was only working if thermostat was set at 9 the highest setting so i replaced the thermostat new one came with a capillary wire that i just laid on top of evaporater coil now the unit wont stop cooling evenat the lowest setting it goes down to 20 degrees

I have a wider unit. 72" wide. I have not altered the thermostat but have a similar problem in that at setting 1 the unit will freeze water. At setting 0 (off), the fans inside the unit do not shut off. The only way to shut them off is to unplug the unit. It doesn't get down to 20 degrees but it is way too cold at the warmest setting.

These units are bad about that. you have to mount the cap sensor in the small tube that runs thourgh the evaporator for proper operation. laying on top of the coil does not let the thermostat sense properly.

What's the highest temperature I should be seeing if my dial is set to 1?

If the thermostat has a control on it, you can perhaps decalibrate it so that the unit shuts off at a higher temperature than normal.

Ice on the back wall; temperature went from 58 degrees to 34 degrees; had to shut off regrigerator

hi,
Wine cabinets work off of cycle defrost, so in order to built frost your temperature sensors are not working properly. I would look for corrosion on or in connections to be the fault or problem. Sensors report information to control unit and thats there only job. Its the control unit that dictates function. Look for corrosion to be the problem, clean connection and seal with RTV when connection a corrected.
Good Luck

The blower on the cooler stays on, won't cut out.

Possible that the thermostat is not working, ry reducing the control down to see if the cut off takes place.
It there is no action, shut offfor 8 hours and check witha lower settings. If the unit goes on , then you have to check the thermostat and control for fault.

Setting are set on 9 and my drinks are still exploding.

Possible that the thermostat control is not reacting to the setting.
so you must check if there is any break or replace the unit.

My unit runs until the thermastat is satisfied and shuts down correctly. But 3 minutes later it starts up again. It repeats this cycle continuosly. How do i set the temperature differential to stop this?

Set the thermostat knob to position cool scale completely to the right or if in numbers to highest number i.e. 9 0r 10. There is nothing wrong with your AC it is only the thermostat setting

Heater shuts off as soon as the room is warm

I take it once the temp is set to 71, and the ambient temp reaches 68 or so, it shuts off, never to come on again?

If that is true the thermostat in the unit is damaged, worn out or in need or replacement, but try a couple tricks.

First, if there are access panels to clean, clean it per the manual, it could be that a dirty filter or air inlet is confusing the thermostat.

Next, unplug the unit for at least 5 minutes, try it again.

Next set the unit on it's highest temp and blower setting, let it rip for 20 minutes, shut it down, unplug and remain unplugged for 5 minutes.

Next set the unit at 71 HIGH MODE.

see if we have a mode switch problem or thermostat if it works on high mode, it is not the thermostat, but I imagine it is, but I am curious as to if it once goes off, it never again comes back on?

Cooler is freezing my Beer!!

Could be the thermostat isn't working and the unit is just running and running all the time. To me that seems the most simple explanation right now. Can you check the temp inside when on the lowest setting for a day, then turn it up to the highest for a day and see if there is a huge difference in temps? Does the compressor motor ever turn off or does it run continuously? Suspect that t-stat...
