If it doesn't have a jack made for plugging Mp3 players into it like the new car stereo's do than you just have to go buy an FM transmitter that is made for Mp3 players. It will play through one of your low FM frequency's on your receiver. You can generally pick one up for around $20

Hello i was wanting to know if i could hook up my AX-596 amplifier to my Yamaha HTR-5860 reciver

I assume you want to slave it to the receiver and drive some more speakers with it.

Connect some RCA cables from whichever channel pre-outs you want on the HTR-5860 to any input on the AX-596.

Set the AX volume to something sufficiently high, run through the HTR's speaker level setup and match the AX volume to match the channels on the receiver. Then leave the AX's volume alone.
---

If you just want the AX to have access to program sources of the HTR, run the RCA cables to it from one of the VCR1 or 2 Out (but DO NOT select whichever one you use via the front panel). These are not affected by the HTR's volume controls.

The volume control knob fell off can i buy a new one model htr 5860 yamaha

Sometimes volume controls are held on by an Allen type screw, which can become loose, allowing it to fall off. You should see a hole in the knob if it is. You might need a long thin Allen Key to get it back on.
Otherwise have checked my spares guide (though it's a few years old) and it seems Yamaha might only do their own spares.

How to listen to my ipod thru my home audio system

You need a headphone to RCA adapter cord, and then you just plug it into the headphone jack on the iPod (iPhone) and plug the two RCA plugs (red & white) into any sound inputs on the receiver and you're all set.

Check this link: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=headphone+rca&rls=com.microsoft:*&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=12037070188082563730&ei=MC1ZS_qCA4SINJ7U3YsP&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBQQ8gIwAA#

Connecting my iPod to the HTR-7450 receiver

You just need to get an audio jack that plugs in your ipod jack (headphone jack) and then goes to audio right and left (the other end is split into red audio and white audio) I got mine from walmart for like $15.00

HTR 5790

Hi,

Yes, you would need an iPod to RCA Cable that will connect to your iPod and to the RCA Auxilliary input of the Yamaha HTR-5790 7.1 Channels Receiver. Similar to a Cygnett Groove Transit - MP3 Phone to RCA Stereo Cable or an iPod to RCA Retractable Cable.

Good luck and kind regards.
