SOURCE: Hazard warning lights come on intermittently

your mechanic has only given you part of a possible solution...lock the car with the key and hold over for 30 secs then take key out, wait 30 secs then unlock/hold key over for 30 secs, the windows may go down. then use the remote to lock car holding down the button for 30 secs..... this resets the system

SOURCE: hazard lights wont stop flashing and car wont turn over.

unlock driver door twice consecutively because that's how u disarm the car alarm. As for the radio, input the code that's in ur booklet. If u don't have it, call ur local dealer with the car's serial number and they will give u the radio code. It's 4 digits.

SOURCE: Hazard lights flashing

I have a 97 subaru outback and encountered the same problem. It is a security device on all newer subaru's. After changing or charging the battery, leave the negetive battery cable disconnected. Turn the key to the "on" position, then reconnect the negative terminal. This will stop the flashing.

SOURCE: hazard lights flash by themselves, doors won't stay locked (unlock by themselves) key fob won't work.

I has a similar problem and I just took the battery out of my remote. I think there is a problem/ short in the remote. It's as if the button is being pressed when it is not. I will use my spare one in the mean time. It was driving me crazy becuase I was driving long distance at the time and when I removed the battery it stopped. I hope this works for you!

Hazard warning lights activate when engine is turned off and car is parked. Any ideas please? Battery went dead due to hazard lights flashing all night

Sounds like a alarm system. I had an old car that did that untill I hit lock or unlock on the RF remote

if not check the Emergency flasher switch or maybe a relay. Of course make sure the button is not on. Try toggling on and off.

The hazard lights are sticking on and draining the battery

Hi.

Replace the hazard lights switch.

Series 3 hazard light switch malfunctions are quite common. The switch may not work, or like in your case, it may short and drain the battery. You can find the procedure to remove the switch summarily described on this forum.

The switch can be tested disconnecting it from wires, and using an Ohmmeter on its contact to ensure it is opening and closing fine, and not sticking.

If the switch is fine, wiring, alarm system and crash sensor must be tested. The most common reason for this kind of problem is the switch itself.
