ok guys ive got a quite a bit of experiance with car audio, but this ones got me stumped

ts-1440 power acustik will work when connected to a 12 power supply (ie: 120v ac to 12v dc converter) but when connected in my 99 ford f150 the power light will not come on unless the rca line is connected but comes on in protect mode when they are. any idea's?

I have the same issue, everything was hooked up and then one day it stopped working, threw the red protection light and it hasn't fixed itself yet. I checked the ground and its strong and re-traced all the wires and can't seem to figure out what is wrong.

I had one of these amps, if you don't have a good ground, the protection light will come on.

Power acoustik bafm2000/1d no power coming from channel

HelloAny one channel circuit of the amplifier has any sort of trouble, the amp will go to protect mode. It may be a direct short in it he output circuit. This is the common fault for these type of amps. A through check should be done to find out the reason. You must have sound knoledge in electronics, and experience to do this work by yourself. In most cases, unlike TVs, amps circuits are quite complicated and user cannot do it by themselves. OK.

How do i fix my Power Acoustik LT-980/2 car amp, it keeps on going into protect mode.

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty . .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you

I have an spl 1440 watt model st2-1440 that goes into protect as soon as it turns on. I've checked all the wires and tried disconnect everything but the power wires. Other amps work fine on those...

could be that the voltage that is going to the amp is to low or something is shorting out inside the amp if it is voltage then you need to add a secondary battery if that dont fix it then its inside the amp

How do you fix a blown fuse circuit in a lt1440 power acoustik amp

Just replace the blown fuse with one of the same amp rating... If the fuse keeps blowing you'll wanna recheck your wiring and make sure you don't have a short somewhere.

Amp Not working!

If the amp goes into protect mode, it's likely due to shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible problems, read through the following page:

Amp in Protect Mode - Troubleshooting

If the problems are not with the wiring, follow the link at the bottom of the page to the Amplifier Repair Primer page.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Odd behavior of power and protect

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connectes to the vehicle) and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

Do this with no RCA or speaker wires connected. Let me know what you find.
