1. Many window xx computers have the following as a default login:

user: "Administrator" (w/o quotes)
password: no password or "admin".

If default user name / password does not work and user / password is not available from source, then it is necessary to re-install windows. This can only be done via CD-ROM in Viewpad docking station (sold seperately) for Viewpad 1000. Viewpad 1000 is unable to boot from USB CDROM (not supported in BIOS).

Other option:

1. Removed hard drive from Viewpad and install on another laptop or desktop comptuer and install windows. Once windows is installed install hard drive into Viewpad 1000 and turn on. This will require installation of additional drivers for touchscreen, wireless device, camera, etc., hence addtional steps are required. Drivers may be obtained from ViewSonic.

2. send Viewpad to ViewSonic to restore computer for you.

3.I have a Viewpad dock 1000 and I can offer to restore the hard drive fo you. I simply need the hard drive. If interested in option 3, feel free to contact me via e-mail at [email protected] for more information.

External HDs are not usually recognised on boot, however some external CD drives are.. although most of these type of devices have a built in recovery partition, which should allow you to restore this tablet back to factory without having to resort to loading from external devices. try pressing f10 or f11 on boot or look for other messages on bootup to press a key combination if all else fails try looking for instructions on factory reset from the manufacturers website

SOURCE: Unable to get pass login window...

I would hope that the school deleted everything on the device before selling it. If they did maybe they made the username Administrator and left the password blank.

SOURCE: Windows Login issue

I think you are either going to need the docking bay or an external PCMCIA CD-ROM drive to reinstall either Windows 2000 or XP. Legally I believe you need to install a new OS anyway as MS does not allow the transfer of education licensed operating system from the original owner. http://www.viewsonic.com/pdf/us_eng/products/vp_guide_1000_10-22.pdf None of those options work? Try this... http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm

How to bypass system password-administrator password dell venue 8 pro tablet

I will attempt to tackle your problem, however, I am uncertain if you need to bypass the bios password or the login password to windows operating system. Some hard drives also have passwords but from your question it seems to be one of the former 2. If it is a bios password or a windows login you can google Hiren's boot CD 15.2 restored v 1.1 DVD Proteus.ISO and follow the directions for creating a Bootable USB or burn it to DVD with any .ISO image burner like roxio or download image burn...it's free. At start up you may have to press esc or f-11 or f-12 to get the boot menu, choose the device that the boot CD is on by using the arrows on the keyboard, highlight the device and press enter, you will get the menu from the CD, depending on your issue , bios password you must go into dos mode, if login to windows you can enter either dos or mini windows xp or mini windows 7 and follow the instructions to remove or reset the passwords.
Yes......give me your service tag number and I will generate the password for you, I have the factory service tag to password generator.....you have a bios password lock. If you also run into a windows password the horns CD will help you.

Hello! I have ViewSonic 10. It cannot see an external HDD. It was correctly (I suppose) formatted but anyway the problem exists. It sees a USB card ok.

The problem is that the Viewpad 10 does not have enough power at the USB port to push a standard external HDD. You will need an externally powered drive or a two to one usb cable for this to work.

Need updated drivers. I just dug my old ViewPad 1000 out of storage and I can't find any of the drivers or SW for it. I am most interested in the networking drivers and the SW for the stylus (if it ever...

Always get your drivers from the manufacturer of your Laptop, Notebook or Desktop.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!

There are no XP drivers to be found with Microsoft as XP is no longer supported.

Some manufacturers may have a limited number of Drivers still listed.

I hope this helps.

How do i login on as administrator on my computer?

Login With the Administrator Account in Windows XP Professional

Click the "Start" menu and then click "Log Off."

Click "Switch User" when the prompt screen opens.

Press "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete."

Click on "Administrator" when the "Log on to Windows" screen pops up. Type in the administrator password, if applicable.

Click "OK." You will now be logged in as the administrator.

Log On as An Administrator in Windows Vista

Start your computer and allow it to continue through its startup process. By default your computer will simply load directly to the primary user account (usually the administrator account), but if there are multiple users on the system it will load to the account login screen.

Use the mouse to click on the administrator account from the list of available accounts to log on. This step is only necessary if you've customized Windows Vista with more than one account or you have set the operating system to load the login screen first.

Enter the password required in the password field to log on to the administrator account.

Click the "OK" or "Log On" button once you have entered the password. This button may be labeled differently depending on the version of Windows Vista or any GUI (graphical user interface) changes you may have made.
Log on as an administrator from within the Windows Vista environment by clicking on "Start" and then "Log Off." As soon as you have logged off, you will be returned to the login screen where you can choose the administrator account from the available list.
