I solve this using Fn + F6, using a 5536 model. Just press Fn + F6, keep holding it and hit the power button, wait for about 5 or 7 seconds, release the Fn and F6 keys. thank you so much guys!

SOURCE: ACER ASPIRE 5610z BLACK SCREEN

FIX:

I have an acer aspire 5520G and i can relate all too well. It worked fine for about 3weeks (from brand new!!) then one day the screen went blank while trying to boot. I managed to fix it and it worked fine for almost 2years, untill i went to sell it and encoutered the problem again.

The Fix: this is the fix that worked for me; firstly the problem; this seems to be a big problem with acers for some reason, and there are a few variations or confusions about it when people describe their fault. My fault is that when my laptop is off, i press the power button and the green light comes on, a fan starts up and there is hope, but then the fan changes speed slightly and it stays like that indefinatley, without the screen having ever come on, and i mean the computer is virtually dead except the power light and fan, you cannot press ctrl-alt-del or see the screen from an angle or with a torch. the only thing you can do is hold the power button and force a shutdown, so some deep seeded hardware is still working, but it seems the display never starts and the BIOS never loads.

My first fix - i managed to start my computer by pressing the power button, then as fast as i can (hold function button) repeatadly press F5 and F6 ie. with the function button held you are pressing [Black out screen/Restore Screen] and [Switch Monitors]. this usually starts my laptop on the first or second attempt. The first time i did this i was playing around with external monitor cables and connections, and switching monitors and the problem spontaneously fixed itself as mysteriously as it had arrived.

Second time was extremely frustrating, i could still load my computer by pressing F5 and F6 combos but could not get it to become self sufficent. I upgraded my BIOS with the Flash Updater from acer (i found it on the net) and after the second boot attempt, windows vista installed some memory drivers, and the problem was resolved.

if this hadnt worked i would have tried the memory battery fix as above, as my problem definatly seemed bios related.

Hope this helps someone from loosing their hair.

SOURCE: My Acer Aspire 4315 laptop screen won't come on.

Sounds very familiar, as my wife had this happen twice in the past week on her Acer laptop.

The way I solved it was to completely shut down the laptop by depressing the power button for a minimum of 4 seconds. Then I removed the power cable and took out the battery back, which I kept out for more than 30 secs.

After I put the battery back in, re-connected the power cable and pressed the power button, everything worked like it should, as if nothing had happened.

I'm, not sure what caused it, but I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with overheating.

Hope this is helpful,
Good luck,

Michael

You could have a defective screen - follow this to determine the fault.

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

My Aspire One netbook seems to be frozen. Screen is black but I cannot turn off computer. It is 751H with 11.6"screen.

Well try hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds until the laptop powers down. if this doesnt work, pull the power cord out to the laptop and take the battery out.

Put the battery back in the laptop and power up.
If u still just get a black screen whist the laptop is on after that its most probably the graphics controller that has malfunctioned.

If that is the case, call ur local Acer hotline and the will come and collect and repair and return if still under warranty.

Acer aspire laptop suddenly shut off and cannot turn back on

try it without the battery on the laptop. if it boots and stays on, put the battery back on and see what happens. If the problem persists, replace the battery. Acer will replace it free if you are still in warranty

Power comes on but the screen stay`s black dose it have a screen lock or stand by

Black screens can be caused by many things the first bit of video runs through the ram, so try changing the ram or swaping it. the next thing that causes a black screen is the LCD Inverter or the back light bulb to test this is take a flash light and shine it on the screen at an angle and see of you can make any faint images out. Next dis-assemble the laptop and see if the processor is heating up or staying cool.

Hope this helps!

Acer Aspire (1414) screen stays black when started

It's look like your laptop have a problem called "NO POST".
motherboard, cpu or memory can cause this problem.
To diagnose it, reseat your memory first and after that turn it on.
if it still no post.
use only 1 memory and turn it on, if still same,
Try to move your memory and seated to different slot and turn it on. if it still same, it's mean your motherboard/cpu is bad.

good luck
