SOURCE: receive files via Bluetooth

I think that files received via bluetooth are saved in to the phones memory unless you have an option to choose location. Otherwise after receiving filr manually move from device to memocard.

SOURCE: My htc hero pairs but then says paired but not

The Hero has a rather crippled Bluetooth which is one of the reasons I'm sending mine back.

For security, when you set the phone to be discoverable it only stays that way for 90 seconds. This cannot be altered unless someone works out how to bypass it with an app but I understand from HTC that this feature is built in at the firmware level.

Look down at the devices list in the Bluetooth menu and you'll see what's paired with the phone; press menu and you'll have the option to connect.

Bluetooth on this phone cannot be used for file transfers of any kind. It's only there to enable connection of devices like headsets and external keyboards and that's about it. You can't even take a photo and Bluetooth it to another phone. There is no way around this at present.

Not connected with your question, but have you discovered the annoyingly expensive and non-alterable trick which it does when you want to send/forward long SMS messages yet?

Testimonial: "thank you much appreciated and no i haven't herd of this annoyingly expencive tirck! could you enlighten me thanks again for your help!! "

SOURCE: Meteor settings required for HTC hero please.

I'm a HTC Hero user on Meteor BillPay. Had the same problem and got the following solution from Meteor support which worked for me. On the phone, navigate to :

- Settings
- Wireless Controls
- Mobile Network Settings
- Access Point Names
- Meteor Data
- APN Type

Change the value here to the word "default".

Restart the phone and bob's your uncle. I did this and it worked a treat.

SOURCE: i am using htc wildfire i have to use my mobile

Prashant, You do not have to copy this file to your laptop. You have to copy and run this file so that the drivers for the cell phone get installed on the laptop. Then only would you be able to use the phone as a modem. To get this file please follow the guidelines in the link below

I have my bluetooth on and have tried to receive files via bluetooth from other phones and from pc and i can pair with other device but not receive files. It says paired but not connected. Is there something...

Sometimes this happens because either you or the other person changes the pairing keys or remove your mobile from his paired list.
It can be solved by unpairing and then pairing again wwith the other device.
Go to settings in your wildfire, Wireless and network, bluetooth. Long press on the device name and select unpair. Also remove your wildfire from the other device's paired list. Then scan for bluetooth devices and pair again. This should solve this problem.
Also, when some device sends you a file via Bluetooth, there is a notification asking permission to receive file. Make sure you click on it and select accept.

MY HTC WILDFIRE WONT CONNECT TO COMPUTER. There are no prompt messages and on my phone it only says 'charge only'. Can you please help?

Once you plug the photo into your computer, open the notification bar on your screen. Click where it shows "Charge Only". Then you should be presented with the option to choose various options, such as "Charge Only", "HTC Sync", "Disk Drive", "Internet Sharing".
Disk drive is the option you wish to use if you wish to put files on or pull files from the phone/sd card.
HTC Sync is what you wish to use if you want to sync data.

What is beams on a htc 6800 cell phone?

this refers to the infrared transmitter. Some printers and other devices have infrared receivers to collect the information you would be sending without wires (this was done prior to wi-fi and is installed on many PDAs for legacy support. I would venture a guess that 90% or more of the people who own devices with the transmitter do not use it.

In order to send pictures from your phone to other devices via Bluetooth, the following steps should be taken:
• Access your phones picture library
• View the picture you want to send
• Hit the menu button
• Select “Copy” from the menu list
• Chose “Bluetooth”
• Hit “Yes” when it asks you if you want to temporarily turn on Bluetooth
• Select “Look For Devices”
• Once your phone finds the device and lists its name, you select that device name
• The receiving device is then prompted to accept/reject my file

I cant send data via bluetoorh to other phone... or receive data from other phone throught via bluetooth... cant detect other device after searching for other phone throught via bluetooth. Im using P990i...

When you are receiving the file, check whether you have checked the Visible to other option. And it will ask for the confirmation when you will be receiving the file from other phone whether to accept or not. While sending the phone to which you are sending data should accept the file you are sending.

Let me know if you have any comments.
