I have the same problem with my TV just today. My model is 42'' LG HDTV DU-37LZ55. The TV was on and all of a sudden I heard a loud pop/bang sound from the back of the TV; the picture/sound were gone.

Tries unplug, replug the tv back like about an hour later. The tv should resetting itself back to the factory setting and should work again. If not the tv Tuner signal board have problems and it is the causes. That the board, where the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish Tuner signal board for the replacement.

Please follow the steps below with you Sky remote.
TV,
RED + SELECT (flashes twice)
TV
0056
Try the volume button if this works then press the SELECT button on the remote. If not press the TV button and try the volume again. repeat this step until the volume works the tv then remember to press the SELECT button to save the code to the remote.
If for any reason this does not work then what I would like you to do is take the battery cover off the remote. You will see a label on there stating what REV 4,6,8 it is. The numbers indicate how old the sky remote is. If your LG telly is a newer tv then you may need to purchase a newer Rev sky remote.
The above should sort you out no Problem Kenny
When it does please leave a thumbs up
