Hi Mr .P J Fixit... I followed the steps mentioned by you i.e. "The problem is the door latch needs to be reset, which requires unplugging it's three electrical connections..." However, the washer is still stuck on pause. Can you please suggest what to do to fix this ? Thanks a lot. Appreciate your help. - musafir

Remove the washer from the electrical supply.
2. Remove the top panel and disconnect the wire plug to the pressure sensor.
3. Reconnect the washer to the electrical supply.
4. Press start and wait 10 seconds (washer will drop out of the continuous loop).
5. Remove the washer from the electrical supply.
6. Reconnect wire plug to pressure sensor and reinstall the top panel.
7. Reconnect the washer to the electrical supply and verify proper functionality.
8. If same symptoms occur, install a new console control.

I fixed this myself and it only took about 5 minutes. The problem is the door latch needs to be reset, which requires unplugging it's three electrical connections. This has to be done inside the washer outer seal, but it is easy to get to. First remove the outer ring that holds the seal on. Next remove only the side of the seal closest to the door latch (again only the outer seal needs to be undone). With this done remove the two screws holding the door latch in place (inside). Remove the latch, unplug the three connectors, plug them back in then reassemble everything. When all is back in place hit "cancel" and it should be good to go.

I have had that problem before...Try unplugging it and plugging it back in...sometimes it's almost like dealing with a computer.

Yes, the original issue was the control from the beginning. the control is damaged and it cannot register the latch at this point. this is necessary and , it will fix the issue.

This was exactly what was wrong with my washer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid Easy Fix! I would recommend leaving it unplugged until you are ready to undo the plug for the door lock. This was a perfect solution!!
Hi friend, thanks for your inquiry!
If your washer continues to display an error code of "PAU" it could be an issue with your door lock but if the door strike is not sitting properly within the latch your washer will continue to provide the error code "PAU". Additionally, if your control panel is registering that the door is closed you may continue to experience the "PAU" code. I would recommend having a professional come and properly diagnosis your washer to prevent any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this is helpful. -OOS
Hello Angela Gilmer - Usually when "PAU" displays on the screens, it indicates that the unit thinks that the door is not securely latch when you started the cycle, or the cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume washer. If proves to be ineffective, try reprogramming the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. If fault reoccurs, then it typically means that the unit has a faulty door latch. If you aren't certain that the door is properly shut, then the latch assembly may need replacing. Contact a professional to assist with the repairs.
