Chamerlain Garage door opener will not respond to remote when outsdide the garage and the door is closed. I tried replacing the batteries. Anybody have any ideas?
I don't know if this will help take the remote in the garage. Look at the controller on the wall. Is there a small hole in the front? If there is, unwind a paper clip so one end sticks straight out. Hold the remote in one hand and the paperclip in your dominant hand. Stick the paperclip in the small hole for just a second or two. (If you hold it in too long it will burn out the opener) Paperclip in for a second or two and press the opener button right away. If the door opens, go out side and try closing the door with the remote. If that doesn't work, don't give up. Sometimes you have to do it two or three or more times. Again don't hold the paperclip in the little hole too long. If you get it to work again, what you just did is reprogram the remote to work with the opener AND you just saved yourself a $60+ dollar service call. I watched this being done at a garage door company to fix my remote and when I did it for the neighbor lady who was also having trouble I got a plate of homemade cookies. If it works for you find a neighbor lady and give her a plate of cookies. That's called paying it forward. I hope it works for you too. Good luck

Will the remotes work in the garage? If yes but not outside with the door closed you might have radio interferace with your remotes. You might have to chage to a your reciever and remotes to a different brand (frequency). Sometimes it is less trouble to change out the operator. Chamerlain changed frequency from 390 (old) to 315 (new).

remotes sometimes only open or only close door. Hard-wire switch always works
