Try watching it on you tube, or google it, it is not hard to do but hard to explain so that it makes sense. Sometimes even ehow has demonstrations.
Good luck

SOURCE: What type shank does this machine have? Low or

I looked up your manual and it looks like a low shank to me, I think that you can use any low shank walking foot. I bought one on ebay and I have bought another one from Amazon, both work about the same. You can also call Singer at 1-800-4singer and buy one from them.

SOURCE: how is a low-shank open toed darning foot P60430

You have to remove the snap on adapter, then attach your darning foot use your screw on the needle shaft. , make sure that the extension arm (looks like a paper clip almost) goes over the needle clamp . If, you still have a problem doing it, email me at [email protected] and I will scan my manual that has a great picture of it and how to attach it.

I have a Hobbycraft 32s sewing machine phoned silver who make them to ask for a walking foot Which they sent me extremely quickly but no instructions for fitting it,so how do you put it on .Help

For most sewing machines, raise the current presser foot and place the needle in the highest position. Take off the current presser foot, including the shank (for snap-on feet). Place the lever of the walking foot on the needle clamp screw. Then secure the shank part of the walking foot to the presser bar with the set screw that held the shank of the previous foot in place. Lower the presser foot and sew. Remember to slow down the machine to a medium or slower speed.

There are only three types of sewing machine shanks for presser feet: high, low and slant. I've seen more snap-on feet with low shank "ankles". As long as you have a walking foot with the correct shank for your machine, it should work. (There are some fancier walking presser feet (IDT, for example) with a quick disable option but that wouldn't be available for the Hobbycraft 32s.

Sewing Machine parts UK, https://www.sewingparts.co.uk/hobbycraft.html , has a number of accessories for the Hobbycraft machines. They show installing the walking presser foot here: https://www.sewingparts.co.uk/pdf/walking-foot-p60444.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Why is my walking foot too high? How do you adjust a walking foot? I have a Singer 4622a and wanted to use a walking foot

Did you get a slant shank even feed foot? The Singer 4622 uses a slant shank. Sewing machines can have a high, low or slant shank foot. I would expect the wrong shank walking foot either being too high or too short from the shank screw to the needle plate on the Singer 4622. The appropriate presser feet are shown here: https://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/singer-4622-parts-accessories.php .

I hope this helps. Otherwise, check if the presser foot lifter is working properly to lower the foot.

I wish to purchase a walking foot for quilting would a universal one fit it say something about low shank is my machine low shank

look at the foot that is on your machine now if the foot and up to the screw that holds the foot on the part that makes it go up and down is less than an inch tall than it is a low shank. you could also google your make and model and ask google to be sure.

My machine is a Husqvarna Prism 980, and I'd like to know if it's a high shank or low shank.

Take a Measure

With the presser foot in the down position, measure from the Needle plate of the machine to the center of the thumb screw of the ankle of the machine (the part that the presser foot snaps on to).

Low Shank - measures ½"
High Shank - measures 1"

Most consumer machines are low shank. There is probably not a walking foot that is made for this machine but there may be some third party suppliers that have a walking foot that will work. Stitchery Sewing Machine Attachments Needle and Thread

What make of walking foot would fit my Elna su air electronic sewing machine, thankyou

You need a low shank style walking foot. Even back in the 80's when your SU air electronic was new, the walking foot sold by Elna was an after market one, and not made by Tavaro. Same with the ruffler attachment, it was after market and actually fitted quite a few makes of machine.

I would just ask the dealer/shop if they will refund your money if you find it doesn't work just in case.

There is a low shank one on sewingpartsonline.com
http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/walking-foot-low-shank-p60444.aspx and they list the SU as compatible with it.

Take off the foot holder on your mache, and you need to fit the little open ended arm over the needle bar and the foot bracket onto the foot with your machine's regular thumb screw. The up and down movement of the needle bar operates the walking foot.

Attaching walking foot

you probably purchased the incorrect walking foot for your specific machine. check and make sure if you have a high shank or a low shank....the way to determine if you have a low-shank is to measure the screw from the plate and look at the distance if it is 5/8 then you have a low, any higher about 1in. then you have a high shank, so you would purchase a foot depending on your shank.
