I can tell you on the LG dryers there is indeed a "reset" for the heating/burner funnel (as you obviously know) on the right hand side of the funnel, however they also incorporate a no reset "hi-limit thermostat" on the left side of the funnel. Once it is tripped it must be replaced. This is only present on the gas dryers.

It is a gas appliance and can only be worked on by a registered gas appliance technician. They will have access to the codes, they are generally hidden to the general public. Call for service.

Lg dlg7188rm - My dryer is not getting hot. When I start a cycle the ignitor comes on (orange glow under dryer) and then gas comes on (blue glow). After about 30 seconds both shut off.

There are two or three sensors in the heat exchanger and another one or two in the fan housing. Check them all for continuity. One in the heat exchanger is resettable

Check to make sure that the thermal fuse is not blown. Small plastic piece with 2 wires coming off of it. Typically this is problem.

My lg dlg7188rm gas dryer will not heat. the gas

Sounds like you need an ignitor part number 5318EL3001A but you will need a gas technician to work on this legally. Best off to call a reliable service company such as Sears.

LG Gas Dryer (Model # DLG5988W) is not heating, the gas is not turning on. When the dryer is turned on the ''Check Filter'' light comes on and when switching to a drying cycle the ?Cool? light is always...

The dryer has a resettable SAFETY thermostat located on the flame tube inside the dryer. LG recommends replacing the Safety and High limit thermostats if the Safety thermostat is tripped. The dryer Glow bar igniter could be bad as well as the gas valve or Main computer. Time to have the dryer serviced by a qualified LG tech. LG has factory service tech in most large cities. Give them a call at 1 800 243-0000.

Hope this helps.

Gas LG dryer works fine, but heat wont stay on more than a minute. then if i try to start it again, the heat wont come on at all. if i wait a few hours, then the same things happens again. heat comes on,...

First, check to see if there is strong air flow out the house at the exterior dryer vent. It is very important to have good air flow for gas dryers. Second, if you do have good air flow and you do get ignition but the burner shuts down quickly and won't relight, the most likely cause is the coils on the gas valve. They heat up when current passes through them and can open up electrically. When they cool down, the process can repeat. The coils for LG gas valves are not available as separate parts. You have to order a complete gas valve, but you can then take the coils off the new valve and swap them out onto the original valve so you don't have to change out the entire valve. If you need instructions on how to get at the gas valve, let me know (with your model number).

Remember, check your air flow first !
Please rate this solution once you have completed your repair. Thanks.

If your vent is clear (strong flow of air at vent outlet outside) then you have a bad gas valve. I have seen this a few times on LG gas dryers. You really only need one of the coils on the gas valve, but they are not available individually. You have to get the entire valve.
