Water leaks during rinse cycle

I bought a used Kenmore Elite top loading washing machine. I hooked up it fine, checked for leaks, and found no leaks. I ran the machine to clean it out and it ran fine, until the rinse cycle The machine started to leak when the self-leveling feature activated. The water is coming from the bottom right of the machine (as you're looking at the machine. I can't tell where the water is coming from.

    Joe,

How do I flush out the drain line? A hose in the machine tub?

It sounds like these suggestions are for a dishwasher and not for a washing machine. Am I reading this incorrectly?

My Maytag washing machine has the same problem only difference is it leaks from the top left seam when the cycle gets to spin.

  • mandyn870 Apr 21, 2009

I have a Maytag washer about 5 years old and now leaks from the bottom during the rinse cycle. Just started a day before hearing squeaking for the past week while it was washing and rinse cycle.

this is not a stackable unit, It is the older combo, the washer leaks from the botom when the machine enters the rinse cycle. when it starts draining the water comes out the bottom of the machine.

ON NEWER MODELS THE WATER SUPPLY AND DRAIN ARE THE SAME CONNECTION THAT "SNAPS or TWISTS" ON TO YOU KITCHEN OR LANDRY ROMM FAUCET. ########### IF YOUR DIDH-WASHER ######### IS A BUILT-IN WITH NO FAUCET SUPPLY THE NEXT SUGESTIONS DO NOT APPLY ARE THE SUPPLY AND DRAIN BOTH. THE DRAIN LINE IN THAT CASE IS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HOSE COMBO. WATEVER DRAIN OUTLET OR INLET YOU FIND ... GETS SOME RAGS A BUCKETS READY AND GET A GARDEN HOUSE ... IF YOUR WASYER IS ON ROLLERS ... MOVE IT TO THE KITCHEN DOOR. LOOK CAREFULLY INSIDE TO SEE IF TRAYS REMOVE EASY FOR YOU.... IF SO LIFT UP THE SPRAYBARE UNIT AND SET IT SAFELY ASIDE ... DONT LET IT GET BENT.YOU SOULD SEE A DRAIN HOLE DOWN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE INSIDE NOW ... MAY NEED A FLASH LIGHT. PLACE THE FAUCET ASSEMBLY AND ANY OTHER HOSE YOU SEE IN THE BUCKET SECURELY. WITH YOUR HOSE NOZZLE END , SLOWLY TURN OR SQEEZE THE SPRAYER TO GET A STEADY FLOW. NOTICE WHICH HOSE STARTS DRAINING WATER INTHE BUCKET. NOW YOU HAVE FOUND THE LINE AND CAN FLUSH IT OUT REAL GOOD WITH THE HOSE WATER PRESSURE JUST A FEW SHOTS. THYAT IS THE FIRST NO-COST NO-PLAYING WITH ELECTRICITY SOLUTIONS.

MAKE SURE TO FLUSH-OUT DRAIN LINE. WATER IF IT IS DRAINING TO SLOW WILL START LEAKING AROUND THE LOWER PART OF THE WASHER WHERE THERE IS A SAFTEY OVER FLOW ... IF YOURS IS A FREE STANDING TOP LOADER THE DRAIN HOSE IS IETHER SEPERATE OR FLOWS WITH A CHECK VALVE THAT HOOHS RIGHT TO YOUR FAUCET. MAKE SURE THE CHECK VALVE AT THE FAUCET CONNECTION IS FREE AND NOT STUCK.

F1 flashes on my maytag bravo washer

This is an inherent problem with this Whirlpool-made top load washer and at first it is believed to be a machine/motor control fault. But it was found later that it can be due issues associated with the pressure transducer/switch system. Air leaks and moisture in the pressure hose including lints or flashing in the air dome can lead to signal error being sent to the machine/motor control assembly and it is interpreted as a machine/motor control fault. You may also observe that the fault code F1 appears usually during water filling at the start of the wash cycle and/or at the start of the rinse cycles.

Check the pressure hose for air leaks and moisture including the air dome. Replace the machine/motor control assembly if no issue is found with the pressure hose and the air dome. Click on the link below for the troubleshooting and repair instruction details.

Kenmore 300 washing machine does not leave rinse cycle

This sounds like a bad timer. If the machine is several years old, the timer could be in need of replacement.

If you are handy, you can replace this device yourself and you should be able to obtain the part from any local Sears parts store or from the internet.

If you are not familiar with this kind of work, it would be best to have a technician replace the timer.

Kenmore washer series 80, Clothes still soapy

If you are getting no water spray during the rinse cycle that would cause the soapy clothes issue.

Are you getting cold water during the wash/rinse cycles? If you have the machine set to warm/warm you may only be getting hot water while the final spin is calling for cold.

If you have cold water available then the timer is not calling for the water spray. The problem is either in the mixing valve or the timer.
