I just had this problem. Put it to the chronograph, pull out the crown to the 3rd position, press the A+B buttons at the same time until everything on the display comes on.

Push the crown back in and the watch will be totally reset. Should be fine after that.

It keeps flashing file! And it's not logging anymore dives.

When the amount of available memory in flash memorybecomes low, "FILE" flashes in the lower left corner ofthe display in all of the submodes of the standard mode as well as in the dive mode. Thewatch automatically switches to the flash memory statusdisplay of the system monitor mode when the water sensor gets wet while thiswarning function is activated. Please note that although it is possibleto use the watch for diving in this state, log data may not be recorded inflash memory during diving. The file error warning function is also activated andadditional log data is not recorded if the duration of a single dive exceeds 2 hours or if morethan 15 dives are made in a single day. The file error warning function may also be activated whenthe water temperature during diving is low. It may not be possible to receive watchsettings by data communication while the file error warning When the watch has switched to the file error warningdisplay, perform the garbage collection procedure in the system monitor mode of the standardmode. I got my Casio G-Shock 4778 aw-590 battery replaced at a local shop(not a licensed g-shock dealer) and the jerks did not set the time and my manual for the watch was thrown out years ago!

mcdevito75 here, Return to the shop for this adjustment. Or you can try, press the mode button, see the display flashing, now press set for each function you want, after each function press mode again to move onto next function, hour minute etc., when all functions are set, presss mode again for steady display. You may have to press and hold down mode button from the start for 2-3 seconds to see display flashing, once you do, you can use set to adjust all functions.

Need to set time on WalMart TGHK watch.

If its digital that makes it more difficult to give setting directions online. Need to know the exact model #. I would do a google search to try and find your watch and you might find a manual online. OR you could seek out a local watch repair business and they should be able to set it with no problems. Most Sears have a watch repair kiosk in their stores! I woudlnt take it back to Walmart because they are just sales people! They have limited watch knowledge!

    Good luck!

New battery needed and fitted to a Polar heart rate monitor

This is really easy to do yourself. Get a CR1632 battery, unscrew the four screws on the back (dont tip the watch as there is a small spring in the watch), unclip the metal band holding in the old battery noting the way 'round the battery is in (minus side up), pop in new battery and push clip back down, when re-fitting the back make sure the spring mentioned earlier lines up with the white sticker with a hole in it on the inside of the watch back, screw down the back. After you have re done all your settings you may need to re-aquaint the watch with the strap, to do this put on the watch and strap, set the heart monitoring going, bring the watch up close to the 'Polar' logo on the chest strap until the time is displayed, should now be all set up.

Cant se time Citizen 8988-q02047 HSB wristwatch

In the time mode, press the upper right button for 2 seconds and the time display will flash. Then press the same button untill the entire time will flash, or both hour and minutes flash at same time. When the hour and minutes flash at same time, this adjust mode is the adjusting of the analog left display (A1). Now, press the lower button for adjusting de hour shown at the digital display that shows the same hour at analog display. This method is to adjusting the 8982 that is the "father" of 8988. Like a Citizen collector, and don´t know any website that you can view the setting instruction of 8988, only the 8982 is disposable here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/downloads/techguides/8982.pdf

    Set watch

I have a G Shock DW-004 made in 1997. I had this same problem, and I tried everything to change TO military time and back to standard time. I just read the bit to try and was about to do it. I pressed the top left button to get the time to flash, and hit the light button by accident (the one with the big G on it) and VIOLA! It changed to military time. So in my model, anyway, the G light button (under the display on the edge of the watch body) changed the time to military from standard and back again, when the time is flashing.

    Good luck!
