Hi, we have a caravan which has an electrolux RM360 gas/electric fridge installed. There is a very weird smell coming out when the fridge is turned on. Its like an ammonia smell it is really strong,

Travel refrigerators use an ammonia coolant instead of freon. So the smell is telling you that you have a leak in the sealed system.

Suggest you look for a replacement fridge OR a rebuilt unit because that is usually cheaper than taking it to a service center for repairs.

Hi- It is probably rotting food. No matter what anyone tells you you have to rinse your dishes, dishwashers are not garbage disposals even though some manufacturers say otherwise. Try cleaning the filter, if you can't get to it you'll need to have a Tech out to do it. You can also try running a short cycle with a few tablespoons of bleach. As well, don't use "natural" soaps, they tend not to break-down grease well. Good luck.

something there might be heavily damaged. food might have gotten stuck in there. better get your repairman remove the outer cover and check the inside problem.

Stinky smell

the drains/vents need to be cleaned out with clorine bleach solution.(leave the doors open to dissipate the gas after)it is very common for the drain hose to get a black moss residue blocking it,and people pay a fortune for a callout to fix.lovely........

Smells fishy

You probably have rotting food scraps in the food trap. Take the bottom arm off, remove the filter, and clean. You can also add some bleach to the bottom of the tank and run the dishwasher empty to sanitize the inside. Run a second empty load to rinse. This should help rid the dishwasher of the nasty smell.

I believe that you might have a coolant leak causing the chemical odor. You really should get it checked out by a fridge repair-person because it's not healthy to breathe in the fumes.

Should come off if it is not glued. it is secured in a groove or has little knobs that stick in holes, you can tell if you just pull it away a little. wash it with bleach/water really good, along with the fridge interior. the odor will go away!

Unfortunately, you have a bad cooling unit in your refrigerator. Then ammonia smell means that you have a leak in the unit. TURN THE FRIDGE OFF!!! Do not use the fridge on AC or Gas until you have the cooling unit replaced or buy a new fridge. Depending on the model number and serial number of the fridge, it may be under recall by dometic and you might be able to have it repaired for free. If you will provide me with the model number, serial number and the serial number of the cooling unit (found on the outside of the unit in the fridge compartment, lower tank of cooling unit), I can then tell you the pricing of the repairs or whether it is under recall.

Again, TURN THE FRIDGE OFF and do not use it...RISK OF FIRE!!!!
