You didn't indicate the age of the unit, hence the oil consumption which can be under heavy hot laod, I believe they are two different issues. With the motor home sat not on shore power, and the gen off measure the battery voltage at the generator battery wire, it may read around 12V start the generator and re-measure it should jump to around 13.8V if it does then the gen battery charger system is intact, which then you need to check vehicle battery converter is working. If you don't have 13.8V then the cause is most likely a stator battery winding, or rectifier.

2007 Ford Explorer (Eddie Bauer) Does anybody know what's wrong?

Anon (no miles odometer told)
the starter is dead?
if yes say so clearly,
starter silent, clicks, chatters or is 100% dead. silent.
starter dead has 6 causes (plus Alternator tests too)
engine dead up to 50 (valve springs broken of 24 there?)
step 1 is check fuses
#2 the jumper cable the battery and crank it over?
the new battery is now dead. discharged from excessive cranking,or learn to keep the battery charged until it starts again. once started we do alternator tests, 13v to 15vdc running at lugs of battery.
the engine shut off driving,? on the fly driving alternator bad
or fuses to it blown.
learn to use a voltmeter at the battery cranking
11vdc is par, CRANKING less means battery is weak or bad or simply discharged. a 2man test,1 cranks other measures battery lugs. all 4 lugs tight, and cleaned of rust.
2cables = 4 lugs. to fail.

we use tools and meters and tests to find what is wrong

what engine
4.0 L Cologne SOHC V6
4.6 L Modular 24-valve V8
?>??????/
VIN #8 code ?

cam chain failure?'
scans show cam timing off?

the driving to work stall sure can be the alternator dead
or just 16 year old bad spark plugs?
or 16 year old COP boots bad, sure the are that old
filters bad? clogged.
my guess (never accurate) guessing. is
when driving to work, the GEN/CHARGE/BATTERY
lamp in cluster was glowing and this is why it stalled
then didnt do the jumper cable jump starte
and see OMG all is good but the ALT /gen is dead.
and stalls again in say 1 hours, driving and battery is dead again , wash wear repeat.

Kohler 30RYG generator with G220 transfer switch... weekly exerciser stopped running and won't run manually?

Are there any faults listed on the control display? If display is dark then likely a battery issue. Check battery voltage with a Digital Multi Meter (DMM). It should be at least 12.5VDC.

I have had battery and alternator checked, both are good. Battery was dead, jumped car, started and ran fine. Drove 30 minutes, shut off and sat for 2 hours. Started fine again, just went to gas station...

Most likely you have a bad battery. The second option is that you have a faulty wiring and there is a constant load that takes a lot of power, but it does not make a short circuit. Check the electrical relays, maybe it's in them.

Just purchased 2001 expedition. Had it for three weeks. This past Sunday went out a d drove around all day Monday battery is dead. Cahrge battery and tests good. Thursday battery dead again. Concerned...

Yes, something is always on and draining the battery. The only way to find which is to disconnect every single one, one by one and see when the current stops - use an ampmeter for that.

No sound from radio / now car totally dead

Its you antenna module above your headliner. It controlls your remote for keyless entry as well as your am/fm reception via an amplifier. GM part number is 12233252 for updated and revised version around $100 bucks online.

Motor and Lights stopped suddenly after vacuuming...
Posted by Brigham81 on Jul 05, 2008
I was vacuuming the stairs, and all of a sudden the light went out and the motor stopped. Is it possible to overheat it, or blow a fuse? Thanks, Brigham

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Oreck XL2200 Bagged Upright Vacuum. It sounds to me that when the lights go out and it stops working that the motor is bad that you would have to replace the motor. It is still cheaper to replace the motor than to purchase a new vacuum. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
