SOURCE: I recently purchased a Husky 3750 watt generator

Is the house dead??? Did you turn off the main breaker in the house?? It sounds like you are sending voltage to the generator.Do you have a switch that stops the power from going down the street from your generator?? 3700 watts is not a whole house genny, you need more like 6500. 5000 min, unless you are just running the fridge and the lights. Is your "plug" wired into the fusebox through a breaker or straight to the bars? You gotta check these things out.

SOURCE: troy bilt 5550 generator no start please help

fuel, fire, mechanical. Miss one and she won;t run. Are you sure the gas was good? Not some old can laying around that may have turned or become water contaminated? If it was fresh gas, then take off the air cleaner and spray a little wd-40, or ether, or brake cleaner whatever is flammable into the carb throat. Just a 1 second shot is all it should need. Try and start with that. If it starts and then dies quickly, still a fuel problem. maybe a gasket is damaged, or the jet is clogged. When you said you checked for fire, you acutally took the plug out and had it grounded while spinning the motor and saw spark? If you saw a hot spark then you have eliminated fire. Mechanical not likely if it was running well a short time before. If a valve was damaged, it would still run but not too well. My gut feeling is it is related to fuel.

Testimonial: "thanks for the great help i did try fresh fuel and drained the carb bowl but still same prob its a head scratcher i really thank you for your input."

SOURCE: I have a generator that does not produce any

As long as you have continuity through the stator and rotor windings, and no continuity from the windings to the core, you should be good.

If the brush block was replaced due to it being defective, take a look at the diode and capacitor regulator as well. Using a multimeter, the diode should indicate continuity in one direction, infinite resistance in the other. If you get this, then replace the capacitor. If not, then replace the diode, and likely the capacitor as well.

I cannot locate the owners manual for my Coleman PowerMate 6250 generator 10 hp? Any place I can find this online quickly thank you

Most PowerMate manuals are available here: http://www.powermate.com/productmanuals.php?cat_id=3 . However, describing it as the PowerMate 6250 10 HP generator is insufficient to find the correct manual. The Coleman PowerMate line has several models with 10 HP engines and a 6250 Starting Watt (5000 W running) capacity.

These include the Powermate PM0435005; the direct link for this manual is http://www.powermate.com/pdfs/2011/12/29/pm0435005.02.pdf .

Please add a comment with the actual model number of your generator if you need further assistance with finding the correct manual for your generator.

I hope this helps.

What weight oil do I use for a 5000 watt Coleman generator

Depends on the temperature where yuo will operate it, but a good multi-viscosity oil like 10W-30 should work. 5W-30 for cold climates.

I have a 5000 watt 6250. Why won't it start my boiler?

A surge protector is for surges coming into an appliance, it will not help ins this situation. Check the specs on the boiler. I suspect that it needs more than 6000 watts.

I have a coleman powermate 6250-5000 running watts-generator. The generator starts and runs but does not produce current to outlets, the outlets are fine-they have continunity,I removrd the armature and...

You may have just lost residual magnetism in your rotor. Start genset then apply 12 vdc to 120 v outlet for less the 1 seconds. This will be enought to restore the residual magnetism to the rotor and the unit should be producing power now.

a 6250 watt generator isn't as powerful as you might think.
Here is ohms law for Alternating Current. It is different than for Direct Current
