My 30 gb zune is frozen
There's a fix:
Your zune will need a "hard reset."
To do this, use a small screwdriver to pop off the plastic shielding where
the zune cable plugs into and remove the two screws on either side of the plug.
Next pop the cover off and locate the battery plug at the top left corner of the
zune, using your screw driver, pop the cable connection half way off, and do
this to the other plug on the right side. Wait 3 seconds, then push down the
right connector and then the left battery connecter. Your zune should start up
immediately. Press the backing of the zune down (make sure headphone jack is
aligned) and put the screws and cover back in place.
It's an easy process but if you're unsure don't attempt it.
My Zune is stuck on the loading screen when i plugged it into my computer... and it wont register on my Computer either
I have a 30gb Black and it did the same thing this morning. 4 hours and its still stuck on the zune loading screen! Tried Restart, shutting it off. clearing it, plugging it in to the computer, nothing has worked. Think i got a serious problem here!

My wife and I each have a 30GB Zune we were given for Christmas 07. They BOTH did this same thing late last night/early this morning. Funny timing? Sounds like a Y2K type glitch.
I have the exact same thing going on, as well as a friend of mine with the same type of Zune. Both are totally locked up on the loading screen. I think Microsoft has a glitch in their 3.1 software that they updated a couple months ago.
same problem today screen froze with zune logo and its not recognized by the computer.

I think Zune is having an issue because all these problems are happenning on the same day.
