I can't seem to get my dvd player to play on screen
I'm trying to hook up my sony bravia theater system that I bought from you. I can't seem to get the dvd to play on screen. The remote turns off and on, but my screen says no signal, what's wrong?
Re: I can't seem to get my dvd player to play on screen
Set the TV to look for a signal on the same input your are hooking your dvd player to. Example, if your dvd is hooked to video 1, set the TV to show video 1 on the screen.

if the tv is already setup , then just plug the dvd player into an input of your choice , preferably , DVD , and then select DVD under your input settings.. keep in mind the tv must be hooked up properly in order for this to work ...
Try going into menu input set up on tv and switch to av input. Just a thought I have the same model and had exact problem. All I had to do was change input style to av cable.
you may have a damaged remote circit or reciver on the dvd player or tv, look for a phone number on the instructions book to call and see if you can send it in to have it checked out
You could see if they will exchange just the unit and save both of you the hastle of checking and repackingit all. It does sound like the unit is faulty. Or if your Bravia has more than one HDMI input then try on another, or a friends tv if you know some one with a HDMI tv in working order.
Could be a sync calibration issue. Try to divert the TV sound to another input source on the Hometheatre system if possible, if it is a go then maybe the TV audio needs to be recalibrated. Make sure TV audio setup menu option has not changed also.
Are you talking about the DVD player built into the HT? Make sure it's selected as the output device using the "function" buttons. The HT should say "DVD".
I had the same problem with mine. The solution I found was to use an optical audio cable rather than the red and white RCA audio jacks. Hope this helped.
Thanks, but still no working dvd signal.
