Try WD40 sprayed onto a cloth and then rub the white streak gently.

Hi; your TV has burn screen or traces.it comes from one image left on the screen for too long, it can get burned into the screen, making it visible at all times. You can actually eliminate most screen burns with the use of a PC computer and a black and white screen saver. This trick eliminates screen burn after a period of several minutes because the black and white screens flash quickly, removing all traces of color from the screen. This will eventually eliminate any burned images on the LCD screen. you can do it by creating a DVD picture slide with only black and white image. you can use a computer to make DVD picture slide first go to paint brush and draw only white then save as white.jpg. second burn it into nero or other dvd burner third play it to your DVD player connected to you LCD TV.it has to be played in full screen let the white image display on your HDTV for several hours or even overnight. It should remove any burned-in images or ghosts. hope this help...............
thanks....

I have a LG 42LB5D 42" 1080 LCD television that

hi, usually you can correct this issue with only a few system checks, dark streaks can be caused by damaged pixels on the screen, in which case you need to replace the TV.
  • Inspect where the dark streaks are on the television. If the streaks occur at the same place on the top and bottom of the screen, they are due to the formatting of a movie or television show you are watching. This is normal. Also, if the streaks appear on the left and right of the screen, they are due to the show being filmed in full-screen instead of wide-screen. This also is normal.

  • Change the input setting so you are viewing the contents of a different device. If the dark streaks are gone, you know they are due to the device connected to it. However, if the dark streaks remains no matter what input the TV is connected to, the problem lies with the television.

  • Inspect the cable connection. Oftentimes when connecting a computer to an LCD TV, you can have strange dark streaks across the screen. Use a DVI-to-HDMI cable connection when plugging in your computer, then press the "Menu" button on your TV remote, select "Picture" and chose "Square Pixel." See whether the image adjusts and the dark streak goes away.
  • Contact the manufacturer of your LCD television if the dark streak remains. This streak can be caused by a defect in the television; if the TV is still under warranty, you can have it replaced.

Hi, I have a Sony Grand Wega LCD Projection TV that has a blotted gray streak across the front of the screen. I only use a damp cloth to clean the window and that doesn't seem to help. It really shows up on light pictures and is unnoticed when the picture is a little darker. What can I do to fix this problem???

Dark burn in? at top and bottom of screen. TV is only 16m old.

PixelProtector is a tool for fixing stuck pixels, removing screen burn, correctly calibrating screens for optimal performance and gaining the best possible picture. Any large screen television is an investment. Poor set-up and calibration can degrade the quality of a television's image and severely threaten the life of the screen.
If you own a large plasma or LCD television with a DVD player and want to achieve optimum performance, PixelProtector is highly recommended.

    3 ways to remove burn-in
    1. PixelProtector for Removing Screen Burn.
    2. downloading a free program called JScreenFix
    3.
Screen Burn Removal Using Your PC.
If you can hook your PC up to your screen burnt TV try this. Create a folder in 'My Documents' called 'Screen Burn'. I'm not joking keep reading. Now open up a picture editor like 'paint' available on all Windows PC's. When you run 'Paint' a blank white document is what you should have in front of you. That is exactly what you need. Select File – Save as and name your picture 'white'. Be sure to save it in the folder you just created.

Next you need to click on the 'black' section of the colour pallet at the bottom of the 'Paint' window. After you have selected black click on the 'Fill' icon (a tipped paint pot) on the left. Now simply click in the middle of your white picture and it should become totally black. Select File – Save as and name you picture 'black'. Again be sure to save it in the folder called 'Screen Burn'. You don't need paint any more so you can shut it down.

Now right click on the Windows desktop an select Properties – Screen Saver and using the drop down list select 'My Pictures Slide Show'. Now to configure the slide show. Click Settings and configure as follows. Slide the bar to 'More' so that pictures change frequently. Slide the next bar to 'Larger' so pictures fill the whole screen. Now click the 'browse' button and find the folder you made called 'Screen Burn'. In the next set of options:- Check 'Stretch Small Pictures', Un-check 'Show File Names', Check 'Use Screen Transitions' and finally un-check 'Allow Scrolling Through Pictures With The Keyboard'. Save the options.

Different versions of Windows might have slightly different configuration options but as long as the result is a completely filled (no borders), alternating white and black screen with no writing then it will probably help.

Now set your screen saver to 1 minute and leave the keyboard and mouse well alone.

As with the 'snow' and 'signal pattern' leave this for a while to see some results. If you use your TV for the PC then it might be a good idea to use this as your regular screen saver and run it frequently.

The only snag is the headache of connecting the PC up and the fact that removal technique will not be running at your screens native resolution.
