Laptop beeps 7 times

Try link: http://blog.parts-people.com/2014/06/27/dell-inspiron-m501r-m5010-beep-codes-diagnostic-indicators-2/ How to identify beep codes: When a laptop or computer first powers on, it goes through an initial set of diagnostic tests to make sure vital components are preforming correctly. These tests are called POST or Power On Self Test. When a test fails, the user is notified via POST codes, Light codes, or Beep codes. For diagnosing Beep codes you need to:
  • Power on the laptop or restart it if it is already on.
  • Listen to the number of consecutive beeps when the computer begins to boot. Restarting the laptop may be necessary and should not harm the laptop at this time.

Any help for beeping acer laptop when opening..thanks

g'day!

i would like to know how many and the kinds of beeps? there are what they call beep codes which indicates what kind of problem the your laptop is experiencing: here are the common ones:

0 beep = no power, loose card, short
1 short beep = normal,POST (Power On Self Test), your computer is ok
2 short beeps = POST error, review screen for error code.
continuous beeps = no power, loose card, short
repeating short beeps = no power, loose card, short
1 long, 1 short beeps = motherboard issue
1 long, 2 short beeps = video issue
1 long, 3 short beeps = video display circuitry
three long beeps = keyboard/keyboard card error
one beep, blank, incorrect display = video display circuitry

aside from the 1 short beeps, you need to take your laptop to a technician to have it looked at.

cheers mate!

On a dellmodel pp39l when the power is turned on it beeps 2 times and doesnt start up

I could not find any beep codes that show only 2 beeps, please refer to the Dell Support website to find out what beep code best matches what your laptop is doing

http://support.ap.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/pe650/en/sm/beep.htm

Have you recently taking apart your laptop? If so then double check to make sure the RAM is seated correctly, remove the battery plug in only power and try turning on the laptop.

I was previously surfing the net using Chrome and I had opened many many tabs.. My laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook S Series - S6420) then hung/hannged and I couldn't do anything so I held down the power button to...

Your beep codes are..
1 short beep System is OK
2 short beeps POST Error - error code shown on screen No beep Power supply or system board problem Continuous beep Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem Repeating short beeps Power supply or system board problem
1 long, 1 short beep System board problem
1 long, 2 short beeps Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA)
1 long, 3 short beeps Display adapter problem (EGA)
3 long beeps 3270 keyboard card .
So looks like a display problem, have you tried any of the recovery/restore options available when you press F8 on boot up

I have a Dell 1525 laptop and when powering up, nothing comes up on the screen but the power light comes on. One time it made a loud beeping nosie.

It depends on the beeping noise you hear. If it beeps short but continuouse then it is probably power problem possibly the battery. You can use a guide to the beeps to determine what exaclty is causing the probpem it might well be the hard drive is gone.

Annoying beep

Hi
I think you problem is from the power adapter. It's not working properly.Sometime you have the electricity sometime not.So you laptop switch between AC or DC(battery),that's why you laptop beep. The problem can also be from the power connecter on your laptop.Best is to try to change the adapter and see the result first.
goodbye,takecare
