This is a divided pickup ( 6 pickups in one ) 1 pickup for each string of the guitar. The pickup under the G string does not respond. The pickup has not experienced any trauma. It did seem alittle weak before it stopped responding.
I have the same problem. Only the 1st, 3rd and 5th strings respond. This is not a sensitivity adjustment. The unit does not see the strings. I called Roland and was able to purchase just the pickup itself rather that the entire GK-3. The pickup was about $35 but took 4 weeks to arrive. When it finally got here I was excited. It was not difficult to remove the old and replace it with the new. I plugged it in. NOTHING CHANGED! I believe and hope it ti the 13-pin cable. I have read where these cables are just poorly made and many users have spent a considerable sum on the cable, most recommending having one in reserve always as they are sure to go out.
Eureeka, read through the manual and reset the synth module, I did and mine is now cured
Have you tried another cable? that would be the first place to suspect, if that dont work it could be the coil inside the g string pickup but thats unlikely.

My fourth pickup for the fourth string take no impulse. No sound
Sorry it wasn't the fourth string bur the third, no sound!
yes
Only every other note responds on used my GK-3 purchased on eBay. It arrived bent as if the sell pulled it off the guitar with a screwdriver.......
The sensitivity setting does not see the strings. It only shows settings for strings 6,4,and 2 I like the suggestion and will try another costly 13-pin cable. Hope that's it!
If I have too I will take this apart and look fro broker wires...I understand you can carefully bend the tabs back but they are not made to be bent and may break. I'll post my results.
me too, same problem, 5th string cannot be recognised ???
