I have a BC350A uniden bearcat scanner and it won't stop scanning. If you put it on one channel it will pick up traffic, but if you hit private/scan it won't pick anything up. All the numbers are current
L16 Disc coil needs adjustment, Audio is slightly off, and improper noise to DC squelch level detect used to stop scan on active channel. Set to an on freq signal like a NOAA weather channel, and useing a non-metallic tool, adjust to best sounding audio, probably less than a half turn either direction. An on freq signal moduated by 1000hertz, connect scope to speaker and adjust for highest undistorted recovered audio would be better if you could.
This sounds like a sensitivity problem or possibly a malfunctioning squelch circuit, neither of which can be rectified without technical assistance. If you live near NJ, call 973-831-5900 for a tech familiar with Bearcat scanners.

You can try pressing "Manual" and then "Scan" or "Band" buttons from the weather setting to get you back to scanning the police, fire, etc.
Make sure you don't have a WX (Weather) frequency programmed into on of the regular 50 channels or the scanner will continue to stop every time around as it will pick up the WX frequency.
Make sure you have your scanner programmed as well.
The BC350C is a factory pre-programmed scanner, so you cannot program it in the standard manner - entering frequencies via the keyboard. You can, however, transfer a displayed frequency from the SCAN or SEARCH mode into the PRIVATE bank. Details for doing this are in the factory manual that you can download and print, at no cost, here: http://www.uniden.com/pdf/BC350Com.pdf

Your scanner does not have a standard keyboard programming function. Rather you must "capture" a frequency in SCAN or SEARCH mode, and then transfer (program) it into the scanner's PRIVATE bank. For detailed instructions on doing this, you can download/print the scanner's operating manual here:

You BC350A provides coverage of popular bands between 29 and 512MHz, so it is not capable of receiving signals in the 800MHz range. Sorry, but you'll need a different scanner to follow the action.
