Well acording to kitchen aid and whirlpool it is the correct one for my model. They say that it is a factory change over but they have no notes in their system as to what to do to correct the problem.

Do you happen to know the number of the one that I need because even whirlpool has no clue to the part #

Beater is hitting bowl

You can find the User's Manual (which shows how to adjust beater-bowl clearance) for your model at:

Beater is stuck

I had this happen on my Kitchen Aid mixer. There is probably a build up of dough/cake mix etc inside the hole where the beater fits into. Fill a mixing bowl or a jug deep enough to fit over beater with very hot or boiling water. Immerse the stuck beater in the water up to where it connects in to the mixer and hold for about minute. Once the hot water has melted the build up you should be able to remove the beater. Hopefully this may work on your brand of mixer.

Old Kitchen Aid classic (25+), new KA-TH beater bar and suddenly the bowl won't stay mounted. Is it the beater bar, the mounting or something else?

You may need to adjust the head height if the new flat paddle is a bit bigger than the original. When you have the head lifted up with beater out of the bowl you will see a single slotted screw where the head hinges on the pedestal. Anti clockwise to lift the head up, clockwise to drop the head lower. Paddle should just clear the bowl with head down & motor running.

Old classic Kitchen Aid (25+), new KA-TH beater bar and suddenly the bowl is getting knocked off the mount when making cookie dough. Is it the new beater, the base or something else?

Adjust the head height, with the motor raised look in where it hinges. There is a flat head screw there, anti clockwise a bit to raise the head up a bit and stop it banging about on the bowl. Just enough to stop it.

Kitchen Aid Classic Stand Mixer beater stops when it touches anything.

Very much the symptom of a worm (follower) gear needing replacement. Three are videos of this posted on the net and you can find the Service Manual at:

Beater too low-will not lock

I would check the bottom of the beater blades to see if they are out of shape.,or is the base of the mixer raised somehow to cause this problem

Beater rubbing bottom of bowl

This sounds like an issue of beater to bowl adjustment, which can come out of alignment naturally over time and with use of the machine.

If the flat beater is striking the bottom of your bowl, this may cause the locking mechanism to loosen and may cause the mixing head to "bounce" during use.

Your Use and Care Guide will cover the "beater to bowl adjustment," which you can do at home in a few minutes with a flathead screwdriver.
