SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 700m won't start

Hi,
It sounds like there is an issue with the system memory.

Remove both the power adapter and the battery. Turn the laptop over and locate the RAM (memory) cover and remove the holding screw.
Take out the system memory and clean the brass contacts, also clean the slots that the memory sits in.
Re-seat the memory making sure it clips into place nice and tight and replace the RAM cover.

Return power to the laptop and turn it on to see if that has helped.

If it still won't boot up then you may need to purchase new memory for the laptop.

Good luck.

Testimonial: "leecom72, Thank you for the prompt advice. I tried it cleaning it, but still not working. I'll try new memory (wanted to upgrade anyways). Thanks!"

SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 1545 Booting Problem [Black Screen].

Insert the original Windows CD-ROM into the DVD-drive, and see if the computer will "boot" from that disk. If so, then it could be your 'C:' drive which is having the problem, and thus not "booting" your computer from it.

Try link: http://blog.parts-people.com/2014/06/27/dell-inspiron-m501r-m5010-beep-codes-diagnostic-indicators-2/ How to identify beep codes: When a laptop or computer first powers on, it goes through an initial set of diagnostic tests to make sure vital components are preforming correctly. • Power on the laptop or restart it if it is already on.

Dell inspiron p10f001 no booting 7 time beep coming

Seven beeps indicates a general exception error. This AMI beep code could be caused by an expansion card problem, a motherboard hardware issue, or a damaged CPU. Replacing the faulty hardware usually fixes the cause of this beep code.

Just upgraded Vista to Windows 7. Now when computer boots, it repeatedly beeps (so many times I can't count them), then asks which OS I want to start with. Only Windows 7 is listed. It starts fine.

Hello, if your computer peeps on startup it could be that your keyboard is stuck somehow thats why it beeps, it is sending and interupt request. try checking your keyboard to be sure its not stuck. happy new year
