I too have similar problem with Carrier Split AC (1 ton). It starts at Cool mode, but in an hour's time the timer light blinks (5 second frequency) and the AC stops with the Power indicator still ON, and the cooling stops. Althogh this problem is not seen every time the AC is put in Auto mode, it occurs occasionally. Switching the AC on and off several times works sometimes, but not always.... Every night I have to get up every hour to restart the AC. Will try, however, totally disconnecting the AC from the mains and repowering. But is it a permanent solution? Is it not a manufacturing defect?
