DP Video car system to play video

I bought a DP Video car stereo with a 6" monitor from Frys as close out special. I have installed the unit to my car successfully. The stereo does what it is supposed to do but when I insert a DVD to play a movie, the sound is there but the screen shows "Warning - DO Not watch movie while driving". I was trying to find out how to show the movie but the unit does not come with a manual.
There are no internet sites also for the unit. HELP

Look at the install diagram(wiring codes) that came with the unit. if it has a wire that's designated for the parking brake (allowing you to only watch dvds while brake is engage) take that wire and instead of hooking it up to the parking brake, ground it or put an in-line switch between wire and ground so you can turn that function on and off. warning!!! watching while driving is illegal in most states

You need to get a video cable and hook up the ground on the back of the radio

Hook up the brake wire(pink wire) to the ground(black wire) also when installing to your wiring harness. Picture now shows.

You can download the manual from:
ww.dpaudiovideo.com
it should have the wiring diagram in there and tell you if the signal wire needs to be hot or grounded

How do i get the xo vision gx2146 to play threw my stereo speakers

Pull up the menu screen and scroll through until you come to FM transmitter. Select FM transmitter and scroll through to select a radio station(88.1, 89.1, etc). Select the station. Now, tune your vehicle stereo to said station. Enjoy.

I bought a XoVision gx2801 at a yard sale for 5bucks, the screen turns on and says no signal. what do i connect the yellow cords to on my XOvision gx2801 go to?? could it be the yellow cords no longer...

Does the monitor have a dvd player built in to it? Are you trying to play video's? Or is it just a monitor and your trying to get a tv signal? I believe that the two yellow cords you are talking about either go to the antenna unit to get a signal or connect to a dvd player or another media source to play on the screen. What do you have connected to it? Please go to your original question and click on reply or comment to answer my questions and I will try and help you with this.

I bought a toyota and i dont know how too urn on the dvd player

Go to Clarion .com select united states then select support at the top of the screen. then in the middle you will see installation and operating manual it said use remote for power and fm to play through radio but you need a second part to run Fm modulated but you may already have it . also it has built in wireless headphone IR transmitter. Check web site for purchase of remote and if no luck . check your locals car stereo shops for a clarion dealer and see if they can get remote and ebay last resort.

I just bought the dual headrest from walmart and can not get the sound to work the passenger side. can anyone help me with this?or possibly tell me how to get the sound through the stereo.

The monitor only headrest does not have audio handling circuitry in it. the wire harness for that side is the one with the red and black wire, and the two video inputs, not the harness with the red and black wire and the three RCA jacks. It will function on the wrong harness, but it is not the correct one.

The DVD headrest has two harnesses. One of them is for power and output, the other is for input only from another source. The harness with the red and black wire has the three RCA outputs... the video lead goes to the other headrest, and the audio can be fed to an aux input on a stereo or amplifier. The input harness is designed to be Video 2 input from either a gaming system (a Game Cube is a nice option), or another DVD or video source (hand held video device such as iPod or Smart Phone like a HTC Touch Pro 2).

To get sound out of the stereo, either run the audio output from the headrest to the aux input on your stereo, or cycle the FM transmit options using the FMTX button on the DVD player unit to a station you can tune to on your car's FM radio.

Video won't play

I am not sure about that brand but you are relly supposed to connect the wire coming out of the back of the screen that says "parking brake wire" to the cars parking brake wire or it can by green, black , or several other colors depending on the manufactor. If you do not do that and you just connect that wire to the ground wire "the black one" and it does not work the the screen most likely needs to have some sort of reaction to happen. try turning the unit on then grounding the black wire (the one coming from the unit that should be connected to the vehicles parking break wire) . You may have to install a switch if this works. If you still have the manual look and see if it tells you if the is a sequence like turn on the unti then apply the parking brake release it then reapply and this will tell you how to wire up the switch.

Overhead DVD monitor screen dead but sound plays through stereo

If it's a Rosen dvd player the dvd will need to be put in the unit itself & not the unit in the dashboard! The dvd player mounted in the head ligning is a seperate unit from the stereo system fitted in your dashboard!
Sounds to me like you are putting a dvd into the dashboard stereo system which will play any audio through the car speakers...
Put a dvd into the Rosen unit itself & i am sure you will get a picture on the drop down screen! Remember that as far as i know all Rosen dvd players transmit the sound from the dvd to infra red headphones that should be included! Remember to check the batteries if you still can't hear any sound as they run down quick if the headphones are left on!

Hope this helps....
