1999 blazer Doors lock and unlock even when parked, help

Lock an unlock by them selves ? Door locks are computer controlled ,by the BCM - body control module .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Door Locks Circuit Description
The power door lock system includes the following components:
ā€¢ The door lock actuators
ā€¢ A door lock relay
ā€¢ An door unlock relay
ā€¢ A driver door unlock relay
ā€¢ The door lock and side window switches
ā€¢ The body control module (BCM)
ā€¢ The endgate lock cylinder switch /liftgate lock cylinder switch (utility)
ā€¢ The keyless entry, if equipped
The door lock and liftgate mechanisms may be controlled by the following switches:
ā€¢ The door lock and side window switches
ā€¢ The BCM
ā€¢ The endgate lock cylinder switch / liftgate lock cylinder switch (utility)
ā€¢ The keyless entry, if equipped
The following locking functions are included on the vehicle:
ā€¢ All the doors unlock -- All the doors will unlock, including the endgate/liftgate, when any power door unlock switch is detected. The passenger doors lock directly by pressing the lock switches. The driver door unlocks by the BCM using a driver door unlock relay.
ā€¢ All the doors lock -- All the doors will lock, including the endgate/liftgate, when any power door lock switch is activated. All the lock actuators will activate directly from the power door lock switch (external to the BCM).
ā€¢ The end/lift gate lock switch -- All the doors will lock or unlock from the end/lift gate lock switch.
ā€¢ The lockout prevention -- This function will prevent the doors from automatically locking if the keys have been left in the ignition and the power door lock switch is operated.
The motor is protected by a built-in electronic circuit breaker (ECB). If the motor is overloaded or voltage is applied for an excessive amount of time, the ECB internal resistance increases, essentially creating an open circuit. The resistance returns to normal only after voltage is removed from the circuit, thereby restoring circuit continuity.

You have a bad switch input to the BCM !

How do i get to the door ajar alarm in my 2002 kia sportage? Want to yank the alarm out.. Is it under the radio? Want to get an idea before i take the dash off again

there could be a bad or not totally depressed door switch/es when all doors are closed, assuming the alarm system module (not sure of the name, some manufacturers call it body control module-'BCM') is good. you may try the following:
1. if there is, tighten each lock nut (or mounting nut) of the door switches, to bring out each door switch so that they will be fully depressed when the doors are closed.
2. to find out which switch/es is not being fully depressed when door is closed: while (& all doors closed) door ajar alarm is on, open one door & manually depress the door switch (try to depress several times - might be sticking). if alarm turns off you found the switch, otherwise continue to the next door. but before proceeding to the next door, tape down that first door switch (you may have more than one?) once you found the switch that is not being fully depressed when door is closed, tape down that switch (to keep the alarm turned off). go back to each taped down switch. remove tape & close door, if the alarm turned off when the door was closed (switch is fully depressed=good), then go to next.
3. you can skip 2, just install spacer to doors. spacer can be a thin piece of plastic (or something weatherproof cardboard) to make the door switches to fully be depressed when doors are closed., not too thick that may prevent door from properly latching). tape them first, then use good adhesive if they work.
other possible causes are bad door switch, broken or detached wire, or bad BCM)
(note: the door switch is a push button which looks like a small protruding nail? & mounted at the door opening, which will be depressed by the door upon closing).

Door switch wiring

Hi Louis, The courtesy light switch is wired as follows. Power goes to the light. The light is then grounded through either the switch on the light or via each of the door switches. The reason for the interior light to remain on is that one of the door switches is worn and grounding all the time. look for a broken switch or one which is rough when operating. Regards John

Whirlpool ghw9100 Door lock solenoid 60 ohm and 126 ohm? Duet job aid says 60 ohms on contact point 3 to 2 and 3 to 1 that is not possible because the two windings double the resistance the way its made. ...

The terminal numbering of the door lock and unlock solenoids solenoid looks messed up and your resistance reading is correct and the solenoids are good as long as you get 60 ohms both on 3-2 and 2-1 and 120 ohms on 3-1.

You stated, as per live chat discussion, that the door never locks to start a cycle. The door locking routine starts only if the door switch contact is closed (refer to page 6-2 of Job Aid L-68). This could mean the door switch contact never closes for the door locking routine to be initiated and a wash cycle can start or the CCU is not detecting it closed.

Check the continuity of the door lock and switch assembly wire harness (door switch, door lock main switches, and solenoids wire harnesses) including the connectors. Replace the wire harness if a discontinuity or any other issue that might jeopardize its function is found. Proceed with the troubleshooting if no issue is found with the harness or if the problem is not resolved with the replacement of the harness.

Reinstall the door lock and switch assembly, reconnect the wires, put the door gasket back over the outer lip of the door opening, and close the door. Reconnect the door lock main switches and the door lock/unlock solenoids harness except the door switch harness. Jump a wire between the door switches terminal connections (adjacent terminals) on the central control unit (CCU) then reconnect power and start the machine.

The door locking routine should start and eventually lock the door and start the cycle if the issue is with the door switch not closing. Replace the door lock and switch assembly if that is the case. The problem is in the CCU not detecting the door switch closing and needs to be replaced if door locking routine still fails to start, lock the door, and start the cycle.

If the door locking routine starts and the door lock seems engaging but fault code "FdL" flashes and the door is locked, unplug the machine then check the continuity of the door lock main switches at the wire harness connector in the CCU (refer to page 5-3 of Job Aid L-68). The problem is also with the door lock and switch assembly if there's no continuity in any of the door lock main switches. Otherwise, the problem is in the CCU not detecting door lock main switches closing and needs to be replaced if there's continuity in the switches.

With the fault "FdU" flashing when the door lock main switches bypassed, the CCU is certainly detecting the switches closed. This eliminates the possibility of the CCU not detecting the door lock main switches closing. It leaves only the possibility that the door switch is not closing or the CCU is not detecting it closing.

Dryer knob sticks in one spot- won't move

Door switch / Door switch actuator leverThe dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.

Wil not fill with water

  • Check that the water supply is turned on. The valve may be located under the sink.
  • Check the door latch
  • Test the door switch
  • Inspect the float assembly
  • Inspect the fill tube for kinks
  • Test the float switch
  • Check the inlet valve filter screens
  • Test the water inlet valve
  • Test the drain valve lever arm
  • Check the drain valve
  • The door latch pulls the door tightly closed to prevent water leakage around the door. It is also designed to prevent operation while the door is open. The door latch works in concert with the door switch to ensure that the door is tightly closed and latched. The door switch is a separate part from the door latch and is found inside the cabinet. The switch is off when the door is open. Depressing the switch closes the circuit and enables dishwasher operation. Closing the door does not depress the switch all the way. Only when the door is closed and latched, does the door fully depress the switch.
If the door latch is not properly aligned it may not pull the door tightly closed and the door switch will not be fully depressed. Unless the switch is fully depressed the dishwasher will not operate.
It is a simple matter to determine whether the door latch is the problem. Simply open the door, close the latch and select a cycle and depress the switch. Note that if the test is successful, with the door open, the dishwasher will operate and water may spray out. Make sure to first remove all tools from inside the dishwasher. Do not reach inside the dishwasher during the test. Now, inspect the cabinet where the door makes contact with it and locate the door switch. It may have a protruding button or spike or more likely it is a hole with a piece of metal or plastic inside it. You must fully depress that switch. If the switch is recessed, then use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil, to depress the switch
