There is something else wrong like bad RAM, or a failed CPU fan. Open it. Turn on and verify the CPU fan is running. If not fix the fan immediately before the CPU fry's.

I have a emachines amd athlon 64/ 512mb memory / 160gb hadr drive dessk top. when i turn it on the monitor displays no signal and goes off. ihear the prossessor motor running constantly which normally goes...

Please check the cable that connects the monitor to the video card. Reseat the cable, the issue might be a loose connection. You can also try a known good monitor to isolate if it's the video card or monitor that is causing the problem. Something is preventing the monitor from receiving signals from the video card, hence the "no signal" message.

Acer 5100 3372 crash screen blank

Reboot. When the computer first starts, there is text that shows some information and the Bios Version. This is the boot screen.
  • Do you see the boot screen?
  • If yes, then your video/screen is good, and it is the windows driver.
  • If no, then it is your screen, or the cable going to the screen, or the motherboard.
  • If no, then connect a external monitor and press FN (function) key and the F7 (or another F key with a picture of the tv monitor) this toggles between your laptop screen and the external screen. (it may not be necessary, but with some it is)
  • If the external monitor works but not your laptop monitor then it IS your laptop monitor.
  • Now test if it is the backlight or the video. Does the laptop screen light up but no text? Then this is the Cable to the screen or the screen itself. Breaks at the hinge often.
  • or Do you see text faintly, but the screen doesn't light up? That is the inverter board (most likely) and you need to replace that.

Emachines monitor model le1987 screen goes blank after monitor is turned on

Need to verify whether its a monitor issue or a computer issue. Get a known working monitor and hook it up to the computer. If you get video then you know for sure the original monitor is bad.

If you still don't get video then you know its going to be either a problem with the video card or the computer.

Abrupt loss of signal to monitor.

May be your Video card. Try a different monitor to see if it is working. If not you may need a new video card.
