I just broke the glass coffee jug -carafe- and need a replacement.
My local Kenmor store -- SEARS -- did not have a replacement part for me.

Same problem here. I broke the coffee pot while washing dishes. I tried the one solution to no avail. Can a person buy just the pot for this appliance? Where? Same problem here. I found out that this is the same as a Moulinex model (sold in France and Canada as such) but the one replacement carafe that looks right for this (Moulinex) model is no longer available either . Neither Nelson nor Sears has a replacement carafe for this model - online or otherwise. Searched the net for hours and I think it's a wash. Too bad - I was real happy with this coffee maker.

I can't answer your question but clearly if there is any metal in the construction of the coffee pot it should not be heated in the microwave oven.
Ceramic coffee pots aren't intended to be heated in order to make the coffee. The coffee is either made in them by adding hot water or made in another utensil and poured into the coffee pot for serving and perhaps kept on a gentle hotplate in the meanwhile. Glass coffee pots are treated in a similar way.
Metal coffee pots and jugs can be used on the stovetop even though it isn't a good idea except for "cowboy coffee" when dry ground coffee is scorched in the jug before pouring on boiling water; steel is best for this.
I have used all manner of glass, ceramic and metal coffee pots and jugs on the stovetop but always using a heat diffuser - two layers of perforated steel with an airspace in between.
A coffee maker is a different thing and must be heated fairly vigorously. I find an old electric percolator is still the superior method of making coffee.
For filter coffee makers , there is a lid , lift this you will see the filter at the back of this there is a hole,fill this with the water.
But your coffee on the filter,close the lid, put the jug on the base turn on.
Hi there, between the two of us, we have one complete working model. Have you still got the glass jug. My last camping trip was on a sloopy site, and my caravan was at an angle and I had not stowed the glass jug, resulting in the inevitable smashing of the jug. Either you can have my machine, or can I have your glass jug. Im happy to pay postage to you for you to send me your glass jug.
Yes its a great bit of kit, and still makes great coffee.
Like you we have another machine at home, and so this one is on the caravan, for holiday weekends, it would be great to get your jug and make you feel good that one whole machine is out there and still delievering great coffee
Proline parts are very difficut to find and they were on sale at Comet.co.uk you could try their customer services but given that Proline are a budget make their spares are hard to find. I know since I had a Proline coffee maker and had to buy another one off EBay when my jug smashed.
