I put my sony lt18i on charge overnight but it's showing 7hrs of charge at 100%. After restarting it shows 23s. It's only 6 months old!!!

You most likely have a faulty battery. I suggest you go to the shop where you purchased the laptop and get a replacement battery at no cost to you as the laptop would be still under the 12 months warranty period.

I put a new battery in my camera charged it. Used the camera till the battery ran down. Now it won't charge . This is the second battery I've bought every time I try to charge it won't charge.

It takes over 7 hours to charge, so did you leave it charge overnight?

But while the original battery is chargable, disposable replacements are not. Here is what the manual says:

{ ...
The supplied battery is a Li-ion battery. It charges while in the camera using the supplied charger. The camera can also use a Duracell CP1 disposable Li battery, which has the same form factor as the supplied Li-ion cell. HP claim the Li-ion cell will provide power for approximately 200 shots under "average" use and 100 shots with "extensive use of the LCD and flash".
Charge time for the battery using the supplied charger and in-camera charging is 5-7 hrs for a fully depleted battery. In the optional docking station, charging takes 2.5-3.5 hrs and using the optional rapid charger, charging takes 1-2 hrs. ... }

Battrie dies with in the 1st hour of use off charge

Friend, there is a problem in your battery and needs to be replaced. But before doing so just try my tricks of fixing a drainable battery. I have experienced this many times and it works again back to normal. All you have to do is drain the batt,to empty a real empty then cover the battery with a newspaper or any paper.make it thick put a tape if possible.then put it in a saucer or a plate covered with another plate or saucer then put it inside the freezer of the refrigerator.for at least overnight.or 12 hours.then after putting it in the freezer remove the battery so as the covered paper and let it dry if posible under the heat of the sun at leas 3 to 4 hrs as long as it is already very dry then put it on your phone and charge it within 8 hrs.then after that it will make the battery back to normal.This is true ive been working for this i am mobile phone technician in the phils.for quiet a long time.

Charged, wont turn off/on

Try switching off the phone leave it off for some time and then switch it off...

If this doesnt remove the battery and put it back on... and then switch on the cell phone...

This must do the trick...

A small piece of advice mate... Never charge your phone for a whole night... Just put the cell phone for charge for some 2 - 3 hrs or till the batteries are fully charged... Your cell phone's battery would become weak if you charge for a considerably longer duration than required... And i am pretty sure that the problem you got now is joust because of that...

Hope this helped...
