Try and reset your printer, unplug the power cord and wait 10 min, then plug back in,understand that Canon has installed a chip so you cannot use refilled cartridges,or cartridges you refill,if this doesn't work, then contact Canon, and you could get the same message I got take it in to be repaired, (to costly), so I end up buying a new one,,

I have changed the colour ink on my canon mp460 but it still say empty

CL41, this is the one you are using for your cartridge.

Did you change your cartridge with brand new one or refilled one??

If you did with refilled one, the ink level won't go back with full.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the method how printer measures the ink level.

1. Each cartridge has a serial number.
2. As soon as installation in printer, printer recognizes the cartridge by serial #.
3. And the printer starts to count the printing document.
4. After reaching certain print counting, the ink level will show "low ink"

So my answer is even if you refilled your cartridge, the ink level won't change,
since printer cannot weight the cartridge or.....some other technology to measure each color ink level.

Thanks.

I have a Selphy 710 that I've seldom used. Now when I insert a new ink cartridge, it cycles to the end and error box says "Ink cassette is empty and must be replaced." I've replaced the...

I'm having the same exact problem with my CP730. The paper size and ink cartridge are the same size. I've tried two new ink cartridges, same result. Frustrating and expensive.

Near empty black is displayed even with new black cartridge

If you replaced an ink cartridge while Near Empty was displayed on the LCD, the LCD may ask you to verify that it was
a brand new one. Example: Did You Change Blck? 1.Yes 2.No. For each new cartridge you installed, press 1 on the dial
pad to automatically reset the ink dot counter for that color. If the ink cartridge you installed is not a brand new one, please be sure to select 2.
WARNING
If ink gets in your eyes, irrigate them with water immediately and call a doctor if you are concerned.
If you wait until Ink Empty message is displayed on the LCD, the machine will automatically reset the ink dot counter.
If the Install message is on the display after you have installed ink cartridges, check that the ink cartridges are
installed properly.

I insert ink cassete into it"s selphy cp780 photo

Go to section on Error Messages at page 32 of the User Guide found at:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0300002060/02/SELPHYCP780_PUG_EN_03.pdf

It will tell you to remove and reinstall the ink cassette. Try this and make sure you install correctly as per instructions on page 11 of the User Guide.

If this does not resolve the problem, do a complete power down of the printer. Turn off and unplug from the power supply. Lets rest fro a few minutes and then plug back in to the power supply and if necessary turn on power. This should allow your printer to reset and hopefully recognize that a new ink cassette has been installed.

Trust this helps. Please vote. :)
