Hooooo hooooh, "NT" wow ! like the first post in years for that.
i bet not. NT is 1996 OS.
but yes some newer OS do dump errors as NT structural errors. sure. (like NTFS errors and more)
OK = Ok? (zero K means zero ram left or zero kilobytes)

go to bios, yet, run memory test?
this PC came with only 512mb new
and is mostly useless ,today, running any modern OS.
and other bloatware pigs, endless.

max is 2GB. (2 x 1GB ) 2 slots there.
this PC came with windows 2000, XP or vista
never with NT OS ,sorry.

my guess you mean, it's running XP (CP + system) see that?
and XP told you it ran out of ram.
as it sure will using only 512mb. (gill bates said 640k is enough, lol)
easy as falling off a log easy. to run out of ram.
(top reasons are vast , auto update pigs running in ram ! sure.)
(in the run box, type misconfig, run that) then hit the startup tab.
clean most that out. (show yours ;we say what)

this LT is 13 years old (worth zero used ,)
here are some choices. besides cleaning it up per above.

 1. stop using XP it's a virus magnet, worse every day forward.
 2. clean out the startup folder. run ccleaner too.
 3. find things running in ram you have no need for and kill it.
 4. buy a newer PC,
 5. by more ram.
(ever use task manager, and see what lurks in ram?)
control panel , hit system see your OS?
id ask SANTA for new Chromebook and park this pig..
sorry.

SOURCE: Compaq laptop problem

Hi WV,

I am still testing on the battery and so far no problems with the flash drive in. The slow booting is due I think to Avast updating the virus database at the same time. Otherwise it boots OK. I am getting an error at shutdown "SynTPLpr failed to initialize properly" I have also noticed that I don't need to click on the user login at boot time, only place the cursor over the name and it takes off by itself.

SOURCE: hello, my hp compaq nc6220 gives insert smart card into reader

Pl switch the machine off and put 2-3 pounds of pressure with your palm on the keyboard closer to the spacebar.. this will fix it..
it is caused by the weakening of the adhesive of the wires below the keyboard.
Long term option - get the keyboard opened by the an professional and cleaned properly..and fixed back neatly...

Hi,
minimum 2GB for smooth use of the pc, but RAM is fairly cheep so I would go for 4GB. The most importet hardware to be fast is your harddrive.

Virtual Memory too low Warning Trouble in win xp and vista

When there is less physical memory than needed, then some virtual memory (virtual RAM) is created on the disk. When there is a limit set to the size of virtual memory usage and there is not enough of it present there is a warning that frequently comes "Virtual Memory too low". Solution 1 : This problem occurs when physical RAM + Virtual RAM (usually created on hard disk) together are not sufficient to take care of the currently needed RAM size, or this situation is about to arise. This usually happens when some fixed upper limit for Virtual Memory has been set. To solve this problem, you can either upgrade you physical RAM on your computer (recommended), or you can set the Virtual Memory to system managed size or you can do both. Setting Virtual Memory to system managed size means windows will set it to higher size whenever needed automatically, for this,
Right click on My computer --> goto properties, goto advanced tab, click on performance settings, now click on advanced, now click on advanced, now click on change button for Virtual memory.
On this screen select the System managed size, press OK. After this re-start your computer. This will solve the virtual memory too low problem. Solution 2: Recommended solution is to upgrade your physical memory (RAM) according to requirements of the kind of applications that you run on your computer. If you upgrade RAM or not, the following procedure will help prevent this warning by increasing the virtual memory limit.
Right click on My computer icon and click properties.
This will show system properties window. Click on a advanced tab and click on the settings button under heading performance. This will open performance options window. Click on advanced tab and click on change button under heading virtual memory. Check if the space available is set to some custom value or double the RAM size ? If it is not double the RAM memory size , then select the size option set the virtual memory size double the RAM Size and press set button and press OK button. Restart the computer

I have bought Earthsiege 2 and installed it on my Windows Vista 32- bit pc and it installed perfectly only when i try to run the game, it says more virtual memory is required. I have 81.7GB free!!! surely...

Virtual memory refers to your RAM(random access memory)... check how much the game requires and how much your system provides(can be found at system properties...) try upgrading your RAM... hope this helped..if yes please vote for me...

I bought a used laptop and I tried to connect it to isp and i used the cd that i recieved with my service. But when i try to install it it says i need nt6 because i only have nt1. how do i get this nt6

I think that the laptop is running Windows NT with Service Pack 1 installed, and the software that you are trying to install requires Windows NT with Service Pack 6 installed.

However, the _bigger_ issue is that Microsoft stopped supporting Windows NT (at any level of Service Packs) several years ago. Therefore, any computer running Windows NT that connects to the Internet is likely to get "hacked" within a few minutes of being connected.

So, my advice is to either "junk" the laptop, or try to find a "Microsoft Windows 2000 Upgrade" CD-ROM and license-key, and update your computer to use Windows 2000. However, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 2000 in July 2010, i.e., just a few months away.

If you really want "Service Pack 6", find a friend with a CD-writer and Internet access. Access http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and search for 'SP6A' -- download it, burn it to a CD-R, and carry the CD-R disk to your computer, and install it.
Then, run "Windows Update" -- there are many security-fixes that will be required, even after installing 'SP6A'.

Also, you might have difficulty finding anti-virus software that runs under Windows NT !!!!

Installing Ubuntu on Compaq Armada E500.

NO all system is low spec. low memory, Hd, cpu,and so on, you might upgrade memory to above 256M to run Winxp and use the orignal driver cds, for driver req. as win98 or NT driver, 1st try upgrade memory, and test.

Memory upgrade

According to ASROCK who seems to be the manufacturer (please check the picture against your motherboard to be sure) it will support up to 2GB of DDR266 (in two 1GB sticks). Note that some motherboards can be "picky" about memory even though it's all supposed to be compatible. I recommend taking it to a shop so that they can try the memory in the machine before you buy it. Also, you can only run SDR or DDR chips, NOT BOTH. Just want to make sure that you don't fry your motherboard!

Personally, I'd recomment getting two 512MB sticks to get a total of 1GB. More than that is probably overkill for an old computer, although less than that and you'll probably wish you had more. More never hurts, but it doesn't help if you don't need/use it.

Ibm netvista 6794 ram upgrade problems

CL- pc13 memory is reccomended. 512k memory sticks of the pc133 variety give a lot of users problems, you have to find a specific type of memory when installing 512k chips. to get all 3 to work, i sugfgest using 3 sticks of the exact same type (same memory modules on each stick)

System is running 100%

Before buying, try to find the specific process which use most of the system resources. make sure its not a spyware (use lavasoft foe example) or something you can eliminate from the system start up (msconfig...). Anyway, all you have to upgrade is the SDRAM memory. buy another 512K and it will run like the wind :) Good luck.

Windows NT operating system

Your Kodak EasyShare digital camera will not work directly with a computer running the Windows NT operating system. The Windows NT operating system does not support the universal serial bus (USB) standard, and all Kodak EasyShare digital cameras communicate using the USB standard. However, you can transfer pictures from your camera to your computer by purchasing a parallel port card reader. Take the memory card with pictures from the camera, insert the memory card into the card reader, and then copy the pictures from the memory card to the computer.
