SOURCE: I purchased the dual brite motion sensing lights

are you using fluorescent bulbs? I had the same problem in my stairway/hallway till I switched to master/slave. Why don't you want master/slave? What's the diff?

I think each switch allows a certain amount of current to pass...with one switch, it's not enough to light the bulb; two switches, you get a faint light.

My lift master GDo motion sensor lights quit working.

If the motion sensor lights on your LiftMaster garage door opener have stopped working, and the suggested method of using the three-button wall control didn't resolve the issue, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check the Light Bulbs: Ensure that the light bulbs in your garage door opener are not burnt out or loose. Replace them if necessary. Use bulbs that are compatible with your opener and within the recommended wattage range.
  2. Check the Light Socket: Inspect the light socket for any damage or corrosion. Make sure it's clean and securely connected to the opener.
  3. Test the Motion Sensors Directly:
    • If your garage door opener has safety sensors (typically located near the floor on both sides of the door), check to see if they are aligned properly.
    • Make sure there is no debris, spider webs, or other obstructions blocking the sensors.
    • Clean the sensor lenses with a soft, dry cloth.
    • Check the sensor wiring for any damage or loose connections.
  4. Adjust the Light Timer:
    • Some garage door openers have a light timer setting that determines how long the lights stay on after activation. Check the timer setting and adjust it if necessary.
  5. Reset the Opener:
    • Sometimes, resetting the garage door opener can resolve issues. To reset, unplug the opener from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in. Test the motion sensor lights again.
  6. Inspect the Wiring:
    • Examine the wiring connected to the opener and the motion sensors. Look for any damaged or frayed wires. Replace or repair any damaged wiring.
  7. Check for Interference:
    • Nearby electronic devices or fluorescent lighting can sometimes interfere with the motion sensor operation. Try turning off or unplugging nearby devices to see if it affects the sensor lights.
  8. Update or Reinstall the Sensors:
    • If the sensors are older or have been in place for a long time, consider replacing them with new ones. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation.
  9. Contact LiftMaster Support:
    • If you've tried all of the above steps and the motion sensor lights still don't work, it's advisable to contact LiftMaster customer support or a certified LiftMaster technician for further assistance. There may be a more complex issue with the opener that requires professional diagnosis and repair.
Keep in mind that garage door opener systems can vary, so consult your owner's manual for specific instructions related to your model. Always prioritize safety when working with garage door openers and their components.

Slave will not open with Master.

switch leads for master and slave to see if its a wiring issue. if the same gate fails to operate, it may not be your controller.

Motion sensor light lights up during the day

Is this new installation, or old motion sensor that has malfunctioned? Add comment.
Motion sensor has adjustment dials.
Motion sensor that lights in day has probably gone bad.

The safety beam light red or green are not on. the wiring is OK. the door will go up but will not go down without holding the button in untill nthr door is down all the way What is my problem

If the RED and GREEN lights are not on this indicates power is not getting to both sensors. There should be around 11vdc at the two wires going into the master sensor (red light). Yours might be different. If it's not there, test the voltage at the controller. Mine reads 11.4vdc but your voltage may be different for your model; mine is a 1S550/A.
If the voltage is there disconnect the 2 wires from the controller (make sure you have the pair going to the sensor) and twist them together. Then go to the Master sensor (red light) and read the resistance across these same wires...should be around 0 ohms. If not there is an open in one of these wires. 2conductor telephone wire is a good replacement. Watch your polarities.
The factory red + white is normally positive, the all white is negative.
The slave sensor (green light) is connected in parallel with the master sensor.

How do you connect a motion sensor light switch to a chord that can be plugged into a wall?

hmmm lets see... what is the motion sensor controlling?... lets assume it is a lamp with a plug on it. so you need to wire the motion sensor so that it has a male plug on one end and a female plug on the other. lets also assume it is two wire lamp cord and a two prong plug. Take a standard extension cord and split off one of the wires and cut it, attach one of the motion sensor wire to one of those wires and the other motion sensor wires to the other wire.. so the motion sensor is splitting on of the wires.. oh this would be so easy to draw...
