My right front burner starts clicking after it has been on for 5 seconds. Do I need to change that one specific igniter?

I have tried cleaning the igniter on that one specific burner but the burner still clicks once the flame is going.

SOURCE: Igniter will not turn off once burners are lit.

I've had the same problem for 2 years. Today I removed the four burner tops, the 15/16 inch bolt that holds the burners in place, took everything apart (simple connections underneath), completely cleaned and dried eveything. I also cleaned the 4 knobs and making sure the 4 swiches slide up and down freely then dried everything with a hairdryer. Is now works fine but if the problem comes back, I'll simply unplug the cooktop and light it manually. P.S. I stripped one of the large 5/16 inch bolt that had become weak and brittle. - Try using water or some liquid to loosen the bolts as necessary. Good luck, CHEERS!

SOURCE: I have a Jennair Gas

Did you cleaned the burners with liquid or by mistake did any water got spilled on the burner area.Sometimes the burners or parts below the surface can get wet or dirty and cause the clicking. If you wait a few days for everything to dry out, it can stop on it's own.Or you can use hair dryer to dry the moisture/water got collected/settled on the burner area. But if this is not the case, and burners are proper dry and still the clicking, then this problem is related to faulty igniter. The igniter needs to be replaced. ------------ first try cleaning the burners and igniter with dry cloth, you can also use air blower/hair dryer to blow out any dust if collected. Then try.If its got wet/ moisture then it will take few hours to get completely dried up then it will work.but if still same exact problem then its faulty igniter causing this.
---------- To order replacement igniter, click the link below:--- http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Spark-Electrode/1035559?modelNumber=JGC9430ADS --------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Ingiter will either fail to start burner or won't quit clicking on the 1% of the times it does start up the burner

Hi look for adjustments to the lighter and also there should be a sensor tat sees the fire , this sesor allows the main gas to turn on, but only if it feels the heat , kind of like a thermocouple , if you think about about any type problem like this: what is it not doing ? then think what could cause this >/? if you go about any repair this way there is nothing you can't fix unless you need a part !

Miele KM 3474 stove top lights but turns off after 30 seconds

Does the burner attempt to re-ignite after it goes out? If so, it's probably the therocouple. If not, it could be the burner valve. Be sure the caps and rings are correctly seated on the burners and be sure to firmly press the burner knob down to start the flame.

The igniter on the right front burner of my GE Gas cooktop does not work....I must use a lighter or match to ignite....What can I do? There is no clicking sound when I turn on the burner?

all burner igniters work at the same time - you may have a faulty electronic spark unit. change the spark unit. go to repair clinic dot come for the unit. also would be wise to check the ingniter start switch on the gas burner control knob

Jenn Air Gas cooktop burner ignition

Hi JHMcdona

Most likely the electrode for the right burner is defective. As well as the switch may also be defective (is shorted because of pressing hard on it trying to make it work!!). Change the electrode and igniter switch of the right front burner.

Jen-Air Gas range Igniter keeps clicking but not starting fire

01/26/09 My wife decided to give our Jenn-Air a good cleaning. With lot's of soapy warm water she pulled the knobs off and washed under each of them not realizing excess water was now running down the inside of each control knob shaft. The igniter immediately began clicking away as it was being shorted by the conductance of the water now inside of the switch. I had to remove the cover (2-screws) to access the control switches but that is all I needed to do do in order to have clear access. Using her hair dryer it took about 5 minutes of warm air blowing down each of the shafts until the water evaporated and the clicking stopped. Wahla. The old Jenn-Air is back to working order again.

I would try cleaning the burners. You can purchase cleaning brushes made specifically for this purpose and they work like a charm.

Clicking noise on cooktop even when all burners ignite

I have a viking gas cooktop. The ignitor on one of my front burners wouldn't stop clicking even after the flame ignited. I swapped that ignitor with the ignitor from a back burner, expecting that the problem was with the ignitor and that the back burner would start to click incessantly, but at least I'd have my favorite front burner for use. Instead, the front burner was then only clicking 50% of the time and the back burner was fine, suggesting the problem was related to the burner not the ignitor. I pulled the front ignitor a bit away from the burner and now it is working normally. Hope this helps.
