If its universal remote (replcement remote) it could just be that it needs code put back so it can communicate with TV. if its the remote that came with TV and has fresh batteries and does not work. I find most of the time its simple as the contacts in the battery area are not making proper connections cause they tend to loosen up over time. you will have to examine the battery compartment by opening up the remote. Remove batteries first and then attempt to open case with small flat head screw driver. Most them just snap together but some times there are screws. Be cautious when you do this not to break the case and remember reverse assembly order. When you get it open look for bent springs or clips in battery compartment. You might have to bend clip or pull spring to tighten up connections. If everything seem normal look for loose wire connection to battery terminals that are loose or not connected. if this is what it is then soldering iron & solder will do the trick. if all fails go to where you bought TV and ask for replacement because if its any thing more serious than battery connection then the remote has to be replaced.
