There's not much to go on here, but lets start with the simple things first. Check the following:
1) Batteries (be sure that they are in correctly)
2) Use a camera and look at hte remote while puching a button, you should see something in the camera.
3) If you have experience with TVs, open up the unit and check the infra-red receiver. Quite often the solder connections for these go bad which will generate enough noise to cause it to fail.
Check these and update this with your progress.
